Stayed for 2 nights with my wife and 10 month old son. Was a lovely room, and they supplied a baby cot for my son.
The room was nice and spacious and had all amenities that one needs. The only issues was there isnt a bath, only a shower.
Breakfast was nice and Claire went out of her way to give us a cheese sandwich for my son.
I lovely B&B to stay if you are in Buxton
I stayed at Stoneridge with my Mum - we were on a walking break preparing for a charity trek and planned an extended stay so we could also enjoy Buxton.
The guesthouse is gorgeous and Claire and Andrew really have thought of everything. My favourite touches? Proper coffee with a cafetiere in the room, double duvets on the twin beds (nothing worse than a teeny single duvet!), 3 pillows on each bed (one feather and two non-feather - I'm not a feather fan but mum is so both happy!), 3 towels of different sizes (hotel towels are normally tiny but the big towel was BIG), dressing gowns, Buxton water, etc etc and that's just the rooms!
On the landing there's a bookshelf full of books about the local area and a nice reading area, and there's also a lounge with sky tv.
Breakfast has everything you could want from a huge range of fruit, cereals, more jams/curds/honey than I've seen in one place before not to mention a full menu of cooked items.
They happily stored our packed lunches in their fridge (something a lot of hotels refuse to do) and they had gluten free bread which is almost unheard of - Claire acted like this is the most normal thing in the world! Well, having worked in 5 star hotels that couldn't manage this I can say it's not normal so I was really impressed!
The guesthouse is just a few minutes walk from the town centre so ideally located for exploring the town. We ate in some great local restaurants and also walked into town on our last day. It's also ideally located for local walks and sightseeing.
I don't know that I'll get to go back but if I ever have a reason to be in Buxton, or if anyone I know ever needs a suggestion on where to stay, Stoneridge will always be the first choice!
We were singing in the Buxton Festival Fringe, and have stayed here before, and were very pleased to be back. Claire and Andrew were the perfect hosts, the room was very comfortable, the breakfast superb, and the location just 5 minutes away from our concert venue. We liked the black and white themed decor throughout, even down to the 2 Scottie dogs! We will certainly return.
Delightful house, huge choice of breakfasts, perfect hosts, quiet but close to centre of Buxton, - what else could one want in a bed and breakfast. Thanks Claire and Andrew, you made our week complete.
We really enjoyed our trip to Buxton and our stay at .Stoneridge..Claire was a brilliant host, and nothing was too much trouble. The room was very pleasant with lots of extra touches ,chocolates and biscuits on the tea tray!
The breakfasts were really exceptional with so much choice, the bacon was the best ever!
The only niggle we could find was the bed ,which we both found rather hard and uncomfortable.
We were looking for somewhere to stay last minute after an impromptu trip to
Buxton. Luckily for us Clare had a vacancy and myself and 2 of my children were able to be accommodated at the last minute. The room was spacious and beautifully decorated. En suite was compact but perfectly functional and had everything we needed. We all had a great night's sleep and then feasted on a fantastic breakfast the next morning. Clare had plenty of tips regarding where to go and where to eat. Feel very lucky to have found such a gem completely by chance!
Just back from a 2night stay at Stoneridge . We have stayed there many times before and always have a wonderful stay . The rooms are large, very well decorated with lovely comfortable beds. The breakfast is amazing with fresh fruits and yogurt , cereals and then a large. well cooked breakfast and toast. Claire and Andrew are welcoming, friendly and nothing is too much trouble for them. I would and do recommend Stoneridge to family and friends and when visiting Derbyshire we wouldn't stay any where else.
