Seeing all the excellent reviews, we had high expectations of Corbar Bank and it certainly lived up to it -

We chose Corbar Bank for a simple overnight stay. The owners were easily the most hospitable couple we have ever come across, and within minutes of our arriving we were enjoying a nice cuppa tea and a freshly home-baked cake with mine hostess. The ensuite room was beautifully decorated - cakes or curtains, the owners have perfect taste. On their recommendation we ate in the local tapas bar, as Buxton shed its sedentary spa image and Friday's nightlife took off. Breakfast had more choices than the previous night's Tapas, with quite the tastiest and healthiest options we've been offered in 4 decades of travel. But these are things - what sets Corbar Bank above anywhere else is the people, the most extraordinarily interesting and interested people in the business. We won't spoil the fun of discovering them, but discover them you must.

Room Tip: We saw but didn't stay in the studio, and as a self-contained appartment, for the slightly longe...

Another very comfortable stay in a lovely studio. Quiet area but really handy for the town (good selection of restaurants) and centrally located for Derbyshire, Cheshire & Manchester, Sheffield etc. Excellent for single business stays or long weekends for couples.

We chose Corbar Bank as our base for a week long exploration of the Peak District and were absolutely bowled over by the welcome we received from Teresa & Buster. First class accomodation, first class facilities and the most comfortable bed we have ever slept in. We have no hesitation whatsoever in recommending you to book at Corbar Bank for your stay in the Peak District .
We are already looking forward to our next visit. Just perfect.

The family who run 'Corbar Bank' made us feel extremely welcome. Our room had everything you need whilst on holiday; comfortable seating, a bed that was heaven to sleep in, a hot shower and personal toilet, a kitchen that had all the mod cons and equipment your require and a practical brekfast bar to use for writing your postcards, watching T.V as well as eating your food. The decor is extremely pleasing to the eye and you have a lot of space which helps maintain the relaxed feeling.
Buxton it self is a short walk away, so is the train station ( handy to get to Manchester and cheaper than using the car). We went to the Tapas Resturant (Spanish), excellent as was the Indian we also tried. Buxton is an encahanting, friendly , old town but with a forward thinking attitude. 'Chatsworth House' is a must to visit and as I don't enjoy visiting stately homes as a rule that is saying something. There are a large range of walks, in distance and height of the nearby hills and countryside so can easily ensure enjoyment if you fancy a stroll! I can not fault our stay at 'Corbar Bank', Buxton and the surrounding area. Everybody ws friendly and helpfull, the country side was stunning even when it rained!

Room Tip: Only the one double room, very quiet, own front door, hall, then stairs ro room.

I was lucky to be able to stay here for a full week during the stressful business of house moving. I stay in many hotels with my job and none so far have matched the exceptional quality and comfort of the accommodation at Corbar Bank. No mere bedroom here but an extremely spacious self-contained studio flat with everything possible thought of and provided, from suprememly comfortable bed to luxurious kitchen and shower room.

Great value too for all of this luxury. Corbar Bank deserves to be No 1 in Buxton.

Many thanks to Teresa and Buster for their hospitality.

Our idea for this type of accommodation came from staying in great B and Bs, but not always having wanted to go out for lunch or dinner or being tied into having breakfast every day.
