We found this hotel online while looking at Hay-On-Wye and we were immediately hooked by the name. This hotel has a lot of character! The room we booked had a king size four poster bed, a huge bathtub, a very nice shower, and nice seating areas. The views from our windows were beautiful. If you're looking for the gloss and shine of a modern 5-star hotel, this is NOT the hotel for you. The Hall is very old and a bit worn, but the service can't be beat. The staff were all very welcoming and helpful...even when off duty, they are willing to do everything they can to make your stay pleasant. Be warned, though...this hotel is off the beaten path and a car or taxi will definitely be needed to reach it. All in all, a lovely hotel and I would recommend it to anyone.
