“Great value”

Good value for money stay (dont put up the price lol)

Would stay again, great character. Comfy bed and nice big bathroom.

Good wi fi, great parking.

Lots of scerery and castle to explore.

Good selection of beers and wines.

Bar can be noisy until 11pm if you are planning an early night - no issues for me and was a quiet sleep after this.
Breakfast included, fresh and delicious.

My mother and I booked a twin room as we were attending a wedding function a few streets away and I am so glad this is the place we chose to stay. On our arrival we were met with a smile and taken straight to our room. The room was so full of character with wonky floors and a beautiful old stone fireplace and really did fit all of my expectations. There was live music that evening in the pub and we arrived back at our room at 11pm but the music was ceased by 11.15 so not a problem for us either. If you are seeking perfection pass this by as it will not be for you but if you want quirky and full of character then this is the one. At breakfast that same smile greeted us and a well needed cup of fresh filter coffee and then a really lovely cooked breakfast the attention to detail was great nice thick bacon and none of the cheap and nasty sausage. Good conversation with the landlady who was so friendly. This is a place i shall definately be wanting to stay again thank you so much :)

We were looking for a nice old pub to stay in and we found it. The hosts can't do enough for you. The rooms only three of them very quirky. Live music the night we stayed which we enjoyed. Breakfast was excellent. Easy walk to the middle of town and easy bus/taxi ride to the race course. Try it it's well worth it.

This is A pub with a few rooms right in the middle of Chepstow. It's a very old building therefore the building is full of character, and creaking floorboards! It's not modern in any way, and if you are looking for 4/5 star chain level of comfort this isn't it, but if you are looking for something different, good size rooms, decent beds, and a nice breakfast for not that much money, then this is a great choice. We really enjoyed staying here. The pub itself is full of character, and serves decent food and beer. You are right in a Main Street in Chepstow so you can walk everywhere within the town centre. We were able to park our car in the public car park right next to the hotel which is close to the castle. We were only here for 1 night but we enjoyed it and breakfast was good. Would stay here again.

I can't speak for the food and drink in this place as we arrived after they had stopped serving but what I can speak for is the lovely young lady who sent us on a wild goose chase to find somewhere instead of directing us to somewhere nearer.

You will see from my other review of an establishment in this town that the experience was not great so maybe she was trying to save us from that which I seriously doubt.

When asked where was open she directed us out of the place and to the left whereas HAD SHE directed us out and to the right at the top of the hill we would have saved our legs.

Sorry Chepstow but our experience was not good!

Room Tip: Don't listen to any advice from the staff, especially if you are English!

I took my wife and two year old daughter to the Three Tons today for Sunday lunch. The atmosphere was friendly and welcoming and the restaurant had character. We enjoyed a wonderfully homemade tasty meal with dessert to follow. We'll certainly be returning again, soon.

Had a fantastic stay at three tons chepstow . We stumbled on this place two months ago whilst visiting the castle ... they allow dogs in to . We called in for a drink and to shelter from the rain .we fell in love with the relaxst atmosphere. And booked a stay on the lead up to Christmas. This place has so much character . Give it a go and see for yourself.
