“A lovely place for a welcome hot drink, snack or meal”
Reviewed July 8, 2013

We were at the National Diving & Activity Centre for a couple of days, and the View was a welcome place for meals, snacks, hot drinks (after diving in the cold water of the quarry), and a good place to plan the next dive. A lovely view over the quarry too.
First day was just a quick lunch - seemed good value for money for sandwiches, burgers and chips etc. On the Sunday I had the roast dinner before a long drive. Good tender beef, veggies a bit overcooked but plentiful, and lots of roast potatoes.

“When your cold and hungry this place is heaven”
Reviewed May 23, 2013

I came here recently to the National Diving Centre to do some filming of a friend that was training for a deep 80m dive. It was freezing outside, especially down next to the water, and after nearly two hours of chattering teeth, I was ready to both warm up and have something warm to eat.

The restaurant itself is bright, has a great elevated view over the quarry and dive site, lots of comfortable seating including a sofa/soft seating area with a TV which was a welcomed facility after lunch. There is also an outside area where you could have your drinks and eat if the weather would allow it.

Our burgers and chips were great and hit the spot. Service could not have been more friendly and the addition of a bar also was welcomed.

If I was visiting the Centre again I wouldn't to either come and have a drink here or come and have a bite to eat.

“Unusual location”
Reviewed April 5, 2013

Loved the location of this cafe in a quarry used to teach diving - would imagine that it's fun in the summer when you can sit outside - good coffee with a nice view.

“Cute...whatever the weather”
Reviewed February 3, 2013

I am not a diver, however I have been to this cafe twice having stopped on the way back from dog was.
Inside the décor is very modern, there are benches, tables and sofas. The menu is great, obviously people can stay at the dive cent overnight, so they have a great choice of food. There is also a very well stocked bar. The staff are always friendly, and service is great, both times I have visited I have enjoyed my food. On our last visit we had afternoon tea for 2.
Both times we have visited the cafe the weather has not been great, however they have a large seating area which would be lovely to sit out in the summer.

“The View, Chepstow, England”
Reviewed October 30, 2012

The View is a really great little Cafe in the Diving Centre on the A48. The prices are extremely good and the choice of hot meals is something else. I had a chicken curry with both rice and chips for £5 and with tea and coffee at very reasonable prices it's definately a place to call in to even if you're not going diving. The views, the staff and the food are definately worth a high recommendation. Well done
