“Lovely Hotel”
Reviewed August 9, 2007

stayed here for 2 nights to attend a wedding, setting was beautiful, food both at the wedding and in the Orangery resturant was exceptional, bar prices a bit high but norm for this type of property. Nothing too much trouble for the staff, had a newly decorated room which was really nice although a little small, could have done with some air conditioning as it was very hot, used the beauty salon which was reasonable, used the pool which was a really good size. Used hotel florist for our button holes which were beautiful, expecteda a large bill but was surprised how reasonable they were. Would stay again

Beautiful setting with lovely historical feel. Ten out of ten for customer service, particularly a Ms Emma Thomas at check-in and Abi in the Zest lounge (do try the 'hot mud slide' for a night-cap). Nothing was too much trouble. Room service was very prompt. The food was excellent. Breakfast left us with no room for lunch. The room was immaculate and the bed most comfortable, although the television was rather old-fashioned. The pool is of a reasonable size, but not exclusive to hotel guests. Booked through the about britain website and had a better deal than that offered by marriott. Looking for an excuse to return!

I have just returned from a wonderfully relaxing stay at St Pierre Hotel in Chepstow. Upon booking, I was advised of a 'hotel refresh programme' which initially put me off, as i expected a lot of disruption. This however, could not have been further from the truth!
I arrived to find that the tranquil hotel I have frequented, in the same position as i left it. However, as i entered the bedroom wing, I could immediately see where all the 'refresh' had been happening! As I entered my bedroom, I was amazed at the difference! What once had been a comfortable and cozy room, with adequate ammenities was now completely transformed! With dark wood furniture, and elegant soft furnishings, the 'refresh' is fantastic!! I understand from hotel staff that the 'refresh' will shortly be taking over the rest of the hotel, if undertaken to the same standard as the bedrooms, this will be a marvel.
As i have come to expect of this Hotel, the staff were polite, courteous, and friendly. Truely, nothing is too much trouble. I very would very much reccomend both of the Hotel restaurants, though do make prior reservation, as I have been disappointed in the past! Similarly with the Health Spa.
Happy Holidaying in Chepstow!!

When we arrived i did feel a bit out of place as it it seemed very much an upper class golfing resort (and i dont play golf) but after having a lovely lunch in the club house i began to feel much more comfortable. I think this was mainly because of the staff.

We had a choice of rooms for the same price which a bell boy took us to see before we made our choice which i felt was a very nice touch. We chose the lake villa rooms. They were lovely and big, nicely decorated and in such a beautiful location. We had a few ducks visit us on the lawn whcih was nice but the best thing was how lovely and quiet it was. Good for anyone looking for a lie in!

We had Dinner in the Orangrey Restuarant which was amazing. Make sure you request the pannel room if making a reservation. Its not cheap but worth it for a special occasion or treat. If you stick to the set menu it works out cheaper.

Make sure you stay for the breakfast in the morning as it is wonderful. It has everything you can think.

Overall the stay was brilliant only to be made better by the excellent staff 10/10

some close friends booked a weekend to this hotel as a wedding present for us, boys had a game of golf, girls spa and shopping. we met up for drinks and dinner. upon arrival rooms were not quite ready, but staff were very obliging with luggage, took mobile number to let us know as soon as rooms became available, couldnt ask for anymore. Were allocated rooms at the lakeside village, which had a lounge area, separate bedroom and bathroom, balcony overlooking the 'Old Golf course' (which my husband would highly recommend, The New course isnt so good) The rooms were very clean with every thing you would need, mini bar, toiletries, lots of soft fluffy towels, huge bed. Twenty minutes after entering our room, housekeeping arrived to ask if we needed anything, and if we were unhappy about anything at all. I was very impressed. We had drinks in the trophy bar, which I thought were reasonbly priced, as usually hotels charge high prices. We had the table d dote menu in the orangery restaurant £25 per head, for 3 courses, the meal was superb, the service was excellent, who can want for anymore. The breakfast the next morning was of a high standard, it is a buffet style, but everything was piping hot, again the staff were very obliging. The whole weekend was great. The weather was amazing, I will certainly be going back again.

Stayed here for one night during a company conference. Good sized conference room with adjoining room available for refreshments etc. Public rooms are all of a high standard and lots of areas to relax. Bedroom had a lovely view over golfcourse. Bed had lovely mattress topper which made for a comfy nights sleep. Bathroom was the norm for a hotel like this. Ordered breakfast in the room - it was delivered on time. The waiter explained that they had not had the type of milk requested and advised what alternative had been provided - when I asked for another type he went off to fetch it without any problem - nothing was too much trouble. Breakfast was good quality and still warm. Didn't use the spa this time -have used previously and found it very relaxing. Colleagues went off to play golf so good facilities for all. Nice location and nice hotel.
