The dunkeld duchess room was splendid and very romantic with a stylish bathroom with double bath, for more romantic moments. The room was huge with period features and all mod cons to make your stay comfortable.. My partner was particularly taken with a huge easy chair and stool with good veiws to the TV. I can't fault the room or service. Staff were helpful and attentive and on the two nights we stayed came along with choclates and extras for the room. The room had french doors which overlooked the river. This is my second stay in the hotel and last time I stayed in the bothy room which was also beautiful. The food was good and value foe money. The setting is truely stunning right on the river with woods and wild life all around. We used the spa and that was a bit more run of the mill but overall this hotel is above average and the service good. Things we did included a visit round the village, RSPB centre and local golf course.

I stayed here whilst attending a wedding in Dunkeld. The location is very nice with it being next to the River Tay. The public areas are nice, the room was quite small but comfortable and clean. Breakfast was substantial and good. Couple of issues, the lock on the door was not of the modern kind and there was a pain to close properly. And there were 2 or 3 large wedding groups (one of which I was in) so might not suit some people looking for a quiet break. Best to check with the hotel if there are any large groups!

Thank you for taking your time to review your stay at Hilton Dunkeld Perthshire. We are delight you chose to stay with us whilst attending a wedding and enjoyed your stay. You are correct in saying we have large wedding party's but generally they are out with the hotel (in the marquee) and do not cause disturbance to other guests. The reason we have not changed to modern hotel key cards is due to us being a country house hotel and keeping in line with the rest of the hotel ambience. We look forward to welcoming you back to Hilton Dunkeld in the near future.
Kindest Regards
Hilton Dunkeld Perthshire

A great three days, excellent food and service very good. Cleanliness of hotel and rooms was of high quality and staff very welcoming. A slight feeling of faded grandeur e.g. parts of public areas were in need of some attention.

Main problem was the lack of light in the bedroom and with all four lamps on I found it extremely difficult to read a book or newspaper in the evening.

Thank you for giving us feedback on your recent stay at Hilton Dunkeld Perthshire. We are delighted you enjoyed your stay with us and you were extremely satisfied with the food, bedroom and hotel cleanliness and service you received from our team members. The points you made regarding the lighting in your bedroom has been reported to the maintenance manager but as we use enviromental friendly energy saving light bulbs they have a lower wattage than normal lightbulb. Next time you visit please ask for an extra lamp in your room.

We have stayed four times at this hotel and are delighted with its location, surroundings, grounds and hotel building. However our stay this weekend was spoiled by the noise from the corridor and neighbouring rooms.
Unfortunately the weekend we stayed was at the same time as a 21st birthday party whose guests were outrageously noisy on both Friday and Saturday nights. I complained to the hotel reception on Saturday morning about the noise (music) from the next room on Friday night and was told that these guests were checking out that day. However when the music started again at 6pm on Saturday evening, I was told the guests had checked out, then had a different booking for the Saturday night. The noise on Saturday night started at 1 am and continued until after 3.30am. So all in all, not a very relaxing stay!
However the office manager was very supportive of our complaint on Sunday on checking ou,t and we did not pay for any extras on our bill, and he did apologise for our inconvenience.
We will go again as I think this was a very unlucky (and unusually noisy) weekend, and the restaurant service is very good.

I spent 4 nights here with my family and 12 year old brother for a relaxing stay at the end of the summer. The facilities at the hotel were great, a nice swimming pool/sauna/jacuzzi/gym but the best bit was the hotel grounds - stunning scenery on the banks of the river.
The food was excellent, we had breakfast and a three course dinner as part of the booking, and I enjoyed something different every day! As we stayed at the end of the month we got to taste the Summer and Autumn menus!
The room was also great, nice, bright and spacious. Staff were all very professional, approachable and pleasant.

A nice walk along the river (approx 25mins) takes you into Dunkeld, a small town with some lovely little shops and cafes.

We booked for a 3 night stay, DB&B for myself, my wife and my teenage son.
The hotel is set in a stunning location, even in February. Lovely walks and great facilities.
I would recommend the quad biking - compliments to the instructor (Ian) who allowed 'controlled freedom' for me and my son - great stuff.
Food was great and the service from the staff was excellent, all very polite - couldn't do enough for us.

I will definitely be returning in the future.

On arrival we were allocated suite no 414. We had booked the Hilton Suite, but the one allocated to us was nothing like that which was advertised on the hilton website. The room was outside the main complex to begin with, a little cottage type building. On approaching the building the concrete steps were all cracked and crumbling away, and the front door was ajar as it was difficult to close it; on entering the room, even after putting on the lights it was still extremely dark, the sofa in the sitting room was stained and the wooden minibar cabinet damaged and again could not close properly. When checking out the bedroom area, the bedside lampshades were thick with dust as was the picture rail with cobwebs hanging off, there was no evidence of bathrobes or slippers; when we opened the curtains in the bedroom the window looked onto a steep banking - this was not the romantic getaway we had hoped for. We called reception and asked if there was any way we could get moved, as we found this room to be very unsatisfactory - the receptionist offered to send someone to clean the room, but we said that we wanted a different one. She did extremely well, and within a few minutes, we were offered a change to the Atholle Suite - no comparison to the dingy room we had left. Bright, well decorated, beautiful view across the Tay - this was what we had expected when we booked a suite in this hotel. The dinner in the evening was nice, and the breakfast the following morning was great, lots of choice - the only thing we would say is the wine list and bar are very expensive for what you are buying (thirty eight pounds for two drinks, a bottle of water and a bottle of merlot).

If we go back to Dunkeld House Hotel, we will be specific with the room that we wish to be allocated and beware of room 414!

Thank you for taking the time to review your recent stay at Hilton Dunkeld Perthshire. Whenever our guest's expectations are not met and we are made aware of the situation we always aim to correct this and am pleased to hear you were completely satisfied with the alternative suite we provided for you. However general cleanliness is not acceptable and room 414 has had a thorougher clean to rectify some of the issues you had. The majority of our suites are individually unique and many of our guests do prefer our suites outside the hotel and your personal preference will be taken on board for future visits.
Kindest Regards
