Just back from a fantastic weekend at the Hilton Dunkeld, The grounds are spetacular and the hotel and staff are out of this world. We had a room at the front of the hotel, with patio doors facing onto the river. We dined in the main resturant and could not believe how exquisite the food was for the price. We took part in some of the out door persuits and made use of the pool. The staff in all areas made us feel really welcome. There is a grand but family feeling in the hotel and I can't wait to return.

Room Tip: The rooms situated at the front of the hotel facing onto the river for an extra special view.

First stay at this hotel - certainly not the last. Stay for four nights sharing a twin room with my son (and his snoring). we had three days of fishing on the Tweed - the hotel's beat.

My Fiance booked this hotel through a travel agent for a surprise weekend away for my 40th birthday. On check in we had to stand & wait for 20 minutes as there was only 1 receptionist & she was dealing with someone else. The travel agent had asked for their best room with it being a special occasion, room was very tired looking with broken glass lamp & stained carpet & a bath that didnt drain water but did have a lovely view, there was a complimentary plate of strawberries & brownies sadly strawberries were going mouldy!
The hotel is in a beautiful location overlooking the river & very central for Perth, Edinburgh, Glasgow & Dundee.Plenty of activities for the outdoor type of guests & a lovely walk beside the river to the cathedral.
We went off shopping for the day returning early evening to find housekeeping hadnt been in to clean, take away dirty cups etc or replenish tea making items rang reception to get house keeping to come to room with no answer for 10 minutes, someone came up 10 minutes after that but only to bring milk so still had wet towels etc!
Food was fantastic couldnt fault it at all, long wait for dinner on the saturday evening but it was very busy but they had a lovely violinist playing while you waited.
checking out was again a lengthy process & resulted in us having to pay for room even though we had paid this through the travel agent but they had no record of it so had to pay again & claim back from travel agent once home.
In all had an enjoyable weekend but from a 4 star hotel hilton hotel I expected alot more.

I firstly apologise for the negative aspects of your stay with us and please be assured your comments are appreciated and we have investigated the issues with your billing. Upgraded rooms are only available if we have availability and due to the hotel being very busy in recent weeks I suspect there were none available when you stayed. Housekeeping services the bedrooms between 8am to 4pm and we are sorry your room was not serviced. We are pleased you enjoyed your stay overall and you enjoyed our location, the food served in our garden restaurant and our Saturday night entertainment. We do have a reservation team at Hilton Dunkeld and please call the hotel direct for our best available rates.

We stayed in a time share lodge. Beautifully appointed especially the bathrooms. Big comfortable beds. The only thing missing was internet access within the apartment. Wifi hot spot in the main hotel.
Pool and gym were splendid. Light and airy and very clean.
Wonderful walks within the hotel grounds. Dogs allow in some lodges.

We had a lovely relaxing weekend at this hotel. The room had everything in it you would need. Comfortable bed, clean bathroom and nice view of the River Tay. Seemingly we had an upgrade, as the hotel couldn't find our booking, but really I don't know if this was true as it was quite a small room, we did have housecoats, an apple and a bottle of water so maybe it was an upgraded room.
The food was okay, especially the breakfast.
Remember to use the hotel courtesy bus that will pick you and take you to and from Dunkeld which is handy if dark.
We enjoyed the walk along the river, it was beautiful.
The drinks and coffees were very expensive in the hotel bar but I suppose this is to be expected in a Hilton Hotel.
The staff were helpful, and the facilities were good.
