“Scones to die for”
Reviewed January 14, 2013

Great selection of home made scones, jams, soups and chutneys. The home made soup and bread was just right for a travelling lunch break.

“Menu is basic but everything's fresh”
Reviewed November 18, 2012

Second visit, partners 3rd and is always busy and everything's fresh so be prepared to wait for a warm baguette etc. Chutneys and jams all home made as is the soup and home baking. They do takeaway teas and coffees and there is deli type stuff to buy. All the cafes seem to do well even on a cold November Sunday. Give it a go!

“Disappointing having read trip advisor reviews.”
Reviewed November 7, 2012

Stopped off en route south to Yorkshire. Felt as though we were intruding when we entered and the waitress lady was officious, verging on rude. Maybe it was an off day but the cake we bought was dry and not what we expected. We will give it another go but a tad disappointed with Palmerstons .

Enjoyed lunch and thought it was good value. Good atmosphere and friendly staff. This place is always busy so it must be good.

“Lovely once again”
Reviewed October 22, 2012

We visited again on Friday and though had to wait twenty-five minutes for our food it was very good. We have been often in the past and no doubt will be again
