First time at hotel, read some reviews that were not good so I was really worried about going, need not as there review were a bit exagerated, allright it is an old hotel but lounge and clyde ballroom were very nice. My goodness for what you pay for break and pay at bar for drinks are they looking for a 5 star There was 49 of us on the coach and everyone praised the place, and the meals. Also the entertianment was great.I dont no what they got to moan about for what you pay it is worth every penny. Staff all so helpful, will be back.

Room Tip: as long as bed is clean go for it we don't go to sit in a bedroom to watch tv can do that at hom...

Stayed on a 3 day break and loved it.
Yes hotel is dated but rooms warm and clean. The 30 bob bar is great value.
Coach trips to Oban and Inverary were included in the price, coach drivers were very knowledgeable and funny. Definetly go back.

twenty of us went on a coach trip for 3 days, hotel is very average, for what we paid i wouldn t really complain, food was ok, bedding etc was fine, the hotel overall is badly needing upgraded, carpets, bathrooms really needing to be sorted out, we had a great time, the staff were absolutely great no complaints whatsoever, really more or less coach parties, and you definitely need company or it would be rather boring, as the hotel is a good bit out of the way

Room Tip: i wouldn t like above the lounge, as you can hear people under , and outside smoking, also you can h...

We stayed in late December for a three night break in a twin 1st floor room. Though this hotel is undoubtedly in need of some investment, the value for your money is outstanding. The staff were very helpful with our requests and very efficient. Rooms were clean and warm, if basic (no hair dryer or toiletries). Hair dryers can be obtained from reception. The location and views are outstanding. Worth extra for the Clyde View rooms but if you like quiet ask for a room above the 1st floor as entertainment can be loud, though it finishes by 11 pm.

I went with some family members for a 'Tinsel and Turkey' type coach tour break to this hotel although little had been done to create a festive atmosphere. I'm not sure you'd pick this hotel if you were booking independently though - it seems to cater more for coach trips.

The hotel seems to be stuck in a time-warp going back to the 50's/60's. The decor is in desperate need of modernisation, especially the bar area and ballroom! The reception and dining room were ok and the bedroom I had was not too bad although it was a bit small and old fashioned, but everything worked ok and the shower was lovely if you could get the mix right and got the hot water before it ran out!!!!!! (Morning and early evening).

The evening entertainment was not my style, being more catered to the over 70's and the £1.50 bar was ok if you like spirits and cheap beer. The red wine was foul though - it tasted like it had been there since the hotel opened!!!!

The views from the hotel are lovely and it's only a 15/20 minute walk into Dunoon along the prom. I have nothing but praise for all the staff, from the chambermaid right through to the waiters - they are a credit to the hotel.

Room Tip: Avoid the first floor, rooms 15 upwards as these are above the ballroom and you can hear everything...

We have just come back from this hotel after a 5 day break in the middle of December and feel that we had good value for our money. Although this is an old hotel, the bedroom was clean and very warm and the towels and bedsheets were crisp and white. All the staff were very pleasant and the choice of food was good. Self catering breakfasts (as much as you wanted for all those hungry people) and there was a good choice for your evening meals which were served at the table. Very pleasantly situated and for anyone who likes walking, there were forest trails right behind the hotel with fantastic views. We had a great break and would certainly go again.

stayed at the glenmorag hotel while on a David Erquart 5day tour.the 4 of us thought it excellent value, excellent staff.food very good, room always clean with fresh towels as required.the hotel is in need of a bit of tlc to give it a fresher look , but it has a certain character we felt.
we all would be more than happy to stay here again. we also felt it worth the £6 per person extra for the view at the front of the hotel.
trips..... we had 3 day trips , the scenery was very nice but due to is being the winter months the boat trip does not go in loch loman and the castle is closed on the next trip as it is over 2hours each way we felt it a pity a different destination for one of the days may be better. as there is a lot of travel time shame that we cant have music on the bus, because the driver mike did not have a license to do so,,and the heating did not work correctly, we were either to hot or to cold. so it did make fo not a very enjoyable ride.

Room Tip: worth the extra £6 for a view at the front of the hotel.
