It may have been a drive of some 430 miles but after arriving just as it was getting dark it looked good. Staying in a cabin and was not disappointed its very well set out with loads of space. 3 bedrooms(1 on suite) a very large living area and a very well equipped kitchen. The price for 3 nights the weekend before close down is rather expensive. There is an array of daily activities, indoor pool etc & the location is great(5mins from ferry). Go to Steve's Food & Wine on Shore Rd in Gourock to get your ferry tickets @ £16.20 Car & driver and £4.60 each person after that(that's return) which is cheaper than buying on the Ferry.

Just returned from a week at Hunters Quay. We stayed in a newly refurbished Rowan Premier Lodge. It was lovely, and had the added attraction of an outdoor hot tub. Although smaller than the other more expensive, new hot tub lodges, the standard of accommodation was excellent. The kitchen, although small was very well equiped and had a large fridge freezer. The lounge/dining area was large as were the double en suite bedroom and twin room. Large flat screen tv and dvd in the living room and large wall mounted tv in the double room. The lodge was spotlessly clean and the hot tub was serviced every morning. Refurbishment was not yet complete for a few of the neighbouring lodges. Ask for a lodge facing down the hill towards the loch, it is a lovely view. Some of the lodges faced up the hill and were only looking up towards the caravan area. The park was very well kept and security barriers prevent non residents getting access to anywhere other than the entertainment block/swimming pool area. The kids soft play area was excellent, our six year old daughter loved it. We ate twice in the restaurant and the meals were lovely on both occasions. The swimming pools were a fair size and not too busy. I would recommend this site to families and couples, you can make the holiday as quiet or action packed as you want.

Room Tip: Facing the loch

We really enjoyed our family holiday. The lodges were excellent quality with a fab hot tub. The restaurant was good and the Go Active team were brilliant!!

We took part in badminton, swimming, archery and others, so much to choose from. Only downside is there's not much in the local area; you need a car and we willing to travel if you want to explore Scotland. But there's so much to do onsite that you don't need to go out, if you don't want to.

We have just returned today from Hunters Quay after a 7 night stay for Christmas in one of the new Oak Premier Lodges with hot tub. There are currently 4 of these lodges on site 1 x 2 bedroom 2 x 3 bedroom & 1 x 4 bedroom. Having stayed in the 2 bedroom model at their sister site Lochgoilhead in February of this year the only minor comment I can have that is by gaining an extra bedroom this visit ( we stayed in a 3 bedroom one) we lost out in size of the bedrooms, the overall size of the lodge is the same 40ft x 20ft. Having said that it in no way marred our holiday.

The experience from booking, contact prior, check in, comfort, service were all first class. Everyone we dealt with could not have been more helpful. I would thoroughly recommend this site & their sister site.

Speaking to the staff they are going to be upgrading the lodges here throughout 2013, the interiors & installing hot tubs.

Room Tip: Give the hot tub lodges a try you will not be disappointed

We have been holidaying at Hunters Quay for over 20 years and always rent a Lodge. Over the years the Centre has upgraded the facilities and the Lodges in keeping with the changing needs of the holiday maker. It is a great base from which to visit Inverary, Oban and many points North. Despite the many years we have holidayed at Hunters Quay that first evening looking out over the breath taking Holy Loch we know that we will have a week when we can spend the days as we want to. The staff at the Centre are friendly, helpful and always on hand with advice. The supermarket on the site is more than adequate for day to day small items. The updated restaurant is good and the service friendly and efficient. The Centre caters for all ages. You can swim, have a jacuzzi, sauna or work out at the gym. all included in the price. We look forward to our yearly holiday and are preparing to book for 2013.

Room Tip: You can choose a variety of Lodges or a caravan to suit the holiday needs of couples, families and t...

Normally being Campervaners and Awning types on Holiday for a change we booked in Hunters Wharf Holiday Village. Last minute booking we got a lodge. On arrival they bent over backwards to change the lodge to one with a Loch View over Holy Loch. Not having stayed in a lodge before I have to say I was impressed. I did not expect the ritz or some plush fancy decorated home for a week. I actually got more than I expected. The lodge was clean, stocked with everything you needed for a stay, Linen, Crockery, Utensils etc even an iron and ironing board. It reminded me of moving into an army married quarter. Move in and start living straight away. The Restaurant/Bar was excellent, the staff friendly, the swimming pool, gym and sauna was there to be used.

Would I go back................ in the blink of an eye. We had a week away from the rat race, peace and quiet. we could eat in or eat out and the drives and scenery are brilliant.

Loved every second of it.

Room Tip: Book and ask for a Loch View if possible........If not, well get out and about in the car. But if y...
