Stayed at the Selborne for four nights. It’s situated on the Firth of Clyde. Some rooms have a sea view - we looked out on our coach! Our room was small but very clean with everything we needed. The restaurant exceeded itself with the quality and quantity of food offered. Nothing was too much trouble. Our waiter was called Tamas - from Hungary. He was worth his weight in gold. He was helpful, courteous and very patient with two elderly people on our table who found it difficult to communicate. The rest of the staff were excellent too. There was entertainment every night and everyone on our coach enjoyed themselves. Thanks Selborne.

Had a great time at the Selborne hotel with Alfa travel. Beautifully clean, lovely food and fantastic staff, especially Andy behind the bar and Kate in the restaurant, not that the rest of the staff are not as helpful but we were looked after by these two more. Would recommend this hotel. Thank you all

Had a room with a view across the river, which was fabulous.
Decor is a tad dated, but it was spotlessly clean, the staff were efficient and friendly and the food was fine.
It's not 5 star luxury, but you get what you pay for and I was very pleased with my stay.
Liked the fact that the bath was quite low, so it was easy for me to get in and out despite my mobility problems.
It was low season when I stayed so the entertainment was mostly bingo, because that's what the majority of (elderly) guests wanted.
Having said that, there are lots of other venues nearby as it was only a short walk along the prom into the town centre.
I will definitely be back next time I'm able to visit Scorland.

Room tip: Views over the River Clyde are fabulous. Closest to the lift have fewer steps between wings.

Lovely check-in staff, very friendly.
We had a loch view room (absolutely stunning view). It's not top end but comfortable, warm (which hotel rooms often aren't) and the shower was hot with good quality towels and a selection of soap, shower gel, shampoo etc.
Breakfast was really very good and restaurant staff were very efficient and friendly. This hotel is excellent value for money (£65 with breakfast) and only a 2 minute walk to local shops and bars.
Just be aware, they only take cash in the bar.

Room tip: Definitely go for a view over the loch.

Not the best , leaky hotel and at one point had ice cream tub collecting water from roof in dining room & lounge, food wasn't the best , especially when friend ate her ice cream to find plastic in her mouth which has scratched the inside of her mouth, was reported to waitresses and was took into chef, no apology from chef, entertainment wasn't good , but Andy the Barman was funny and if it wasn't for him keeping us from going insane, he made our our holiday fun
