My work means that I often have to stay overnight in Folkestone ready for morning crossings to France via Eurotunnel, or again on my way back home. Sunny Lodge is my preferred overnight accommodation because the rooms are comfortable and warm, the welcome is genuine and friendly and the value for money is outstanding. It's also less than 5 minutes' walk from Folkestone Central station - important for me as all my travelling is done by train. I'm really glad that I found Sunny Lodge and would recommend it without any hesitation.

we booked this guest house for one evening so we could go to dover castle. we had a very warm welcome very friendly owners, the room was very clean warm and enough cups for everyone to have a drink and tons of towels, very quite guest house didn't hear any traffic and enough beds for 2 adults and 3 children and a dog. breakfast was great a very cheerful welcome in the morning fro the owners and the guests. it is hard to find guest homes or hotels that will accept dogs. thank you for making our stay extra special we will look forward in seeing you again soon.

I have stayed at this B&B a couple of times now while visiting friends in Folkestone And i have to say I had a very warm reception on arrival, My room was clean and tidy and had TV, Tea and Coffee facilities. Breakfast has all the healthy options through to a full English with a proper strong brew if required all of which was nicely presented. Stayed here as a first time visitor to Folkstone. My Dad and I were here for the Skabour festival. I found this little gem on their website and was delighted that it would only cost £50 for a twin room and breakfast.
When we arrived there was no where to park and the surrounding roads are all permit holders only. Linda (the owner) let us leave our car key and bags with her and kindly offered to park the car for us. We got back to the room (after having sampled the delights of Folkstone's best public houses) and had to trek up to the second floor, which I must admit would have been easier with a lift but never mind!
The room was very brightly decorated and had bunk beds, a double and a single bed. There was a HUGE flat screen television, a fridge, and comfy chairs. The window opened quite wide too which I liked as most only open about an inch! The bathroom was a bit on the small side but was clean and had clean towels.
I slept like a log in their very comfy beds, although I think the duvet was down as it was really hot under there!!
OMG breakfast! Fresh juice, tea, coffee, hot toast (as much as you like) jams, real butter...really lovely. You are then asked if you would like a cooked breakfast. It takes a little time to come out as it is cooked to order but it's hot and filling. Really really lovely!
See you next year for Skabour 2011
