One of our favourite places on the south east coast staying this year 2012 nearly 60 days . Smack almost on the beach. Read our Trip adviser review for 31st May 2012. The road pot holes have now been repaired but caution is still advised due to the steep down hill. It is a place well worth a visit out of the main holiday times when it can get swamped with cars and people. There are wild camping places which the locals have used for years for tenter's along the beach or on grass plateaux, or a never used car park above the CCC site. for Mhomes. Good fishing for Bass and in season Mackerel, Pouting, Plaice and other Flaties Rock pools for the kids to forage in with Mussels further out.. Sandy beaches with Fossil hunting and nature walks for the energetic. Unofficial naturist beach reached by 0.5 mile walk along the beach towards Dover. The CCC site staff's attitude has improved a little since our May June visit . Toilets are tired but appear to be cleaned more often.and the site in general is being spruced up. Enjoy your trip to the Warren.

Room Tip: Do not arrive before 1200 midday .

Only 45 minutes from home, this is a real gem. Our small VW campervan had no problem with the road in to the site. Friendly and helpful staff. Our pitch was at the far end, close to toilets etc--ideal for those of us with no facilities of our own.Immaculate site in perfect position overlooking sea.Certainly out of season it is peaceful and not overcrowded but maybe that changes in high summer.Wonderful, if muddy, walk into Folkestone along the cliffs. We walked back along the road as it was getting dark.We didn't need the shop so can't comment. We will be back.

Visited the campsite for my first ever camping experience.

2 nights, small pitch no electricity.

Lovely views from tent in the morning. Could hear the waves crashing on the beach through out the night. Very relaxing. Friendly campers. We stayed in a 2 person pop up tent and managed to get a great pitch (number 63) which was quite secluded in comparison to some of the others.

The staff were quite helpful. Shop could have opened earlier than 9am though.

The beach was very quiet and relaxing.

Clean toilets/showers/ laundry room facilities.

We picked this campsite because of the positive reviews, one small thing is the site entrance road which is Very pot holey... as everyone is mentioning.
And it is quite close to the train tracks- but this wasn't a big issue for us.

Overall a lovely trip, great sea views, close to beach location, 15 mins drive from town.

Room Tip: Small tent? Ask for the little secluded pitch 63.

Booked through the caravan and camping site website and got a discount so I recommend this as the way to go!
* Road down to site is narrow and pitted but I managed it fine in a Saab.
*Staff - yes they are pretty miserable and seem very stressed. But we did not have much interaction with the shop. they certainly where helpful and safety concious when we where pitching our 2 sites next to each other.
* the play options for children are limited on site, it would definately benefit from a play area. I understand that as it is on a cliff they are concerned about the danger of children falling but the fences are secure and there is space towards the back of the site that could be utilised.
* Location - brilliant! 5 minute walkonto the beach which is sandy and pebbly with loads of roack pools. it is also not restricted for digs during the summer which is great but this does lead to some dog poo around.
* You are also allowed camp fires etc on the beach which was great fun for all involved as they are not allowed on site.
* the site itself is immaculate, very clean toilets and showers, and a good family room (Key has to be requested from the shop)
* we would definately go again, it has a friendly clientelle and is well maintained with great ammenities close by.

We with a small group of other camping families have visited the warren site many times over the last six years, and love it's beautiful location, clean facilities and the lovely seafront walk into folkestone. None of those things have changed - it is absolutely charming. However, we were slightly put off by the way we were treated by the very officious management, who, despite the site being very under used that weekend because of predicted poor weather (although we had blue skies!!), would not site us next to each other for reasons best know to themselves. In fact one of our tents was put in a very exposed area, dispite protests, which made for a very difficult night during high winds. There was really no need for this othe than bloody mindedness. There was a very large group of people on site who were extremely noisy well into the early hours, something the warren had always been very clear was unacceptable. I hope these were one off experiences as this is a most treasured place for us - some of our children have been coming since babies!

Firstly we have frequented this site many times over the last 8 years always visiting out of the main July/August times when it can get packed. Weekends also tend to be busy and access to the site can be challenging due to the locals parking on the the narrow road verge. Caravans are not allowed due to the danger of disengagement on the steep narrow downhill approach road. Pot holes are everywhere and although some were being filled (May 2012) by the council others owned by the rail company are omitted. To be fair the club does not own or is responsible for the repairs it is a private road owned in part by the council and rail company.
The site is at the foot of the white cliffs directly below The battle of Britain Memorial in the Warren conservation area. Get the "Warren" brochure from Folkestone information for a map of all the walks. The site has grass and hard standings 2 toilet blocks and is almost on the pebble/sand beach. We feel the site has not reached previous years excellence.

Room Tip: Do not arrive before 1200 midday.
