“Very disappointed”
Reviewed May 24, 2013

We booked The Three Acres for a special celebration but we won't be going again.

FOOD......very overpriced.

SERVICE......this OK. Efficient, but the the staff were miserable with no sense of humour.

When we were seated our table was possibly the smallest table we've ever been seated at anywhere. It was very cramped. It would be more comfortable at McDonalds, and a lot cheaper.

The atmosphere was loud and noisy, like any tap room in ant pub. Certainly not a place to have a special meal.

Needless to say,WE WILL NOT BE RETURNING!!!!!. Especially as there are far better restaurants in Huddersfield where the food is better , the atmosphere more congenial , the service far superior and the prices more reasonable (not 2 Michelin star level).

Fabulous selection of food and great convivial atmosphere. Well looked after especially as we were a party of 20 and it was a busy Sunday lunchtime.

“Fantastic Experience”
Reviewed May 16, 2013

My wife and I were invited to a family celebration at the 3 Acres and as there was a party of 64 I did not expect much as I assumed mass catering standards. Well not at all, the place is magnificent and the Sunday lunch was probably the best I have ever eaten and it was the same for everyone in the party -we were blown away! However if the food was brilliant, it was only exceeded by the amazing service from the staff who were among the finest I have ever witnessed, so attentive and friendly -nothing was too much trouble.
The Sunday lunch is I think £29.99 for 3 courses but it really is value for money.

“Very Pleasant Evening & Super Service”
Reviewed May 15, 2013

In years past I’ve been a regular visitor to The Three Acres though now it’s no more than once or twice a year as there are some quality, competing establishments that are without doubt different but as good and simply not as expensive as The Three Acres. I have my opinions on this but it’s not relevant to this review.

The welcome was pleasant and friendly, the bar service was equally good. The parfait there is and always has been exceptional though pricey and we thoroughly enjoyed our starters. The Dover Sole main course was very good indeed though I was disappointed with the steak. For the cost in question you would hope the quality of the steak would mean it almost melts in your mouth. Simply – it wasn’t great, relatively tough and a little over-cooked. It was good but not great. However, the starters were very good and enjoyed, and the wine was a great choice.

Overall the evening was very pleasant, good food, good service, very comfortable atmosphere and I felt relatively young in comparison to the majority of the other diners (I’m 45). The quick summary of the not so good bits are that the steak was fairly average and of course the bill was high, though expected to be so, so not a surprise.
