With my job I travel around a lot and had to work in Huddersfield for 7 weeks. Found this hotel as it was the cheapest within the area and couldn't fault it. The family that own it are lovely and help no matter what. I used to check in at ridiculous hours due to work and they always made sure someone was up to let me in. Room was always clean and they catered to what ever I needed. E.g. Hair dryer, extra plugs (supplying extension leads), shampoo and lots of towels. Literally a 5 minute drive and 10 minute walk (max) into the centre of Huddersfield. Also the road just off the M62 which is good for business travellers. Didn't eat at the hotel at all as never needed to but loved the fact the Rooms had fridges and microwaves and a table and chair to eat at.

Really happy with my stay and if have work in this area would definitely stay here again. Very clean and very helpful. Only downfall was I think that the car parking needs to be sorted at the back as some days I had to park in another car park behind as its so difficult to park. Not too much of a problem though.

Thanks again :)

Sophie

Room Tip: I loved room 106 on the first floor as it wasn't too big and had everything I needed. Ideal for...

The service here is first class and all customers are well looked after, however the hotel is in need of decorating due to paper hanging off the walls, plaster missing etc. We have stayed there twice now in a luxury room and a standard room. The luxury room was excellent and not over priced however the standard room did leave a lot to be desired from a cosmetic point of view. On the plus side everything worked.

Room Tip: If you are going to stay here go for the top rooms

I stayed in a double room for a night and for the money it was an absolute bargain. We were greeted in a warm and welcoming fashion and the owner helped us to carry our suitcases up to the room. The room was nicely decorated and spotlessly clean. It had a TV, microwave and fridge as well as the expected shower, toilet and wash basin. For the money, this was much better than I expected.

The hotel is situated on a quite road in Huddersfield and it is around a 15 minute walk from the station. Anybody who is less mobile may wish to take a taxi there but most people should have no issues with the location.

I would recommend this hotel to anyone.

This place has period charm, lovely old town house, is very clean inside and staff welcoming. However, its fair to say its not as good as some might think.....our room had a clock that didn't work, bedside lamp not working, shaving lamp not working, toilet not fixed to floor and moves, shower leaks......need I go on....you get the picture....

It has a rear car park, no signs there to say which of the 3 are there so make sure you ask and be careful on even paths into the place....

If you want a no thrills guest house with some town house period charm...otherwise perhaps one to avoid unless you have a pack of batteries and bulbs and tool box.

We stayed here for three nights whilst visiting family in the area. Our room was spacious and had a comfortable king-size bed. The bathroom was clean and had a large shower with lots of hot water. The only criticism is in the positioning of the bed in the corner of the big room - it meant clambering to get in or out, and difficult to see the TV. Since we were out for most of the time we didn't bother mentioning it, but I have no doubt that if we had, something would have been done. Service from the family who run this hotel was first class. Breakfasts had a wide variety of choice and the cooked breakfasts were huge and delicious. We were welcomed and made to feel at home, and treated with kindness - even to the extent of being given a bag full of pears from the garden for our grandchildren. Good hotel and lovely people. Thank you.
