“Not a good choice”
Reviewed June 22, 2012

Having read reviews on Trip Advisor we thought this was a good choice, we have since read Booking.com and that agrees with our experience. Access is rather bizarre and as the reception is not marked in the maze of mill buildings and parking difficult, not a good beginning. It must be almost impossible for those arriving out of office hours.
The view from Studio 6 was very good but---there was a kitchenette but only one chair and no table so the only surface available was the corner of the TV unit. The TV didn't work. Wifi only in the corridor in front of the lifts.Dire warnings about calling the emergency number so we felt we could not call at 2am when the banging window made sleep impossible-it had a nail stuck in the catch as a repairThe springs in the mattress sticking up didn't help either
.No restuarant Sat eve as there was a late staying noisy party, it did not open until 10am Sunday
Such a shame, someone needs to enrol on a Hotel management Course.

Room Tip: Arrive in office hours and check all facilities carefully especially the bed.

Again, another relaxing and peaceful stay at the lofts. Being completely self sufficient and the ease of access makes a difference. I cannot praise the staff, facilities or location more.

Many thanks.

Michelle

Room Tip: They are all very comfortable, but the suites offer more space.

My husband and i stayed at the heritage lofts only for a night, as we were visiting family in Huddersfield and wanted to have a night out in the area. The suites are lovely with vintage style furniture and beamed ceilings and it is fully furnished as you would expect from a self catered apartment. The bathroom was huge, with a lovely stand alone bath as it's centre piece. There is a bar and resturant and we had our breakfast there. Not cheap, (£17 for 2) but very nice. We ventured into huddersfield for a night out and had a superb meal at bradley's restuarant. Taxi only cost £4 and is 10 minutes.
Would go back again if we visit hudds in the future.

We stayed in the orient suite. It was beautifully appointed with what looked like antique furniture in some cases, spacious and it had a bathroom to die for!

The furniture was a little tired in places and could have done with, for example, coasters to keep it in a little better condition. But it really was a treat to look at. It could have been a little better organised: there were no bedside lamps (which could have gone on the windowsil with no additional holes required in the beautiful bed) which meant once the lights were turned off we had to negotiate a step up and a low entranceway.

But what really let it down was the housekeeping. Some of the UHT milk provided was off, even though it was in date (just). Dust really shows up on black lacquered furniture, especially if there are many, many nooks and crannies. The kitchenette area was adequately clean but not spotless. The bathroom however gleamed, I have rarely seen any room so clean and shiny.

Overall I enjoyed my brief stay.

I took my boyfiend to stay here on his birthday and it was lovely. Check in was really good, quick, easy and no fuss at all. Really good value for money and clean. A few things I would change would be the bed (which was 2 singles put together and fell apart all night, aswell as the heaboard coming off), the noise from next door (we could basically hear everything our neighbours said), and no dvd player ( took some of our fave dvds to watch and there wasn't one, after it stating on the website there was). I would stay again, but would like to stay in a themed room they have there.

We have stayed in the heritage lofts several times and have always enjoyed it, the self check in is great as u can arrive anytime on wk ends to suit, and there is no bother! As usual the suites are very clean, spacious, and cosy! My son stayed in the apartment opposite ours and was extremely satisfied with his room! We stayed in the out of Africa suite this time which was cosy and had different animal prints throughout the decor. I think we only have 1 more suite to stay in before we have a free night on them! The themed suites are rum boat, Amore, The orient, Out if africa and the Windsor suite.Once you have been aroun the world staying in all the themed apartments, you get a free night on them!
We are always on leisure when we stay here, but the spacious appartments are all self contained with kitchens, lounge, bedroom, bathroom! A very good stay all round!

I have stayed in the suites at least 7 times now and can honestly say that I have never had a bad experience. The Amour Suite is absolutely lovely, bright, airey and calm. It also benefits from a little kitchen area and a very spacious and deep bath. I have stayed there 3 times now and have another booking in a couple of months. The African Suite is also lovely with an equally deep bath and very comfortable seating area. When I first arrived at the Lofts, I stayed in 2 of the studios, which were perfectly lovely, again with a kitchen area. I have nothing negative to say about the accommodation or indeed the staffing. To be able to stay in such comfortable surroundings, be able to make my own food if need be, have access to a gym, be next door to a restaurant, easy access to Huddersfield town centre and the M62 is more than most hotels can offer and still keep competitively priced. I won't be staying anywhere else! See you soon.......

Room Tip: Any of the Suites for a more spacious or longer stay.

Official Description (provided by the hotel):
Our serviced studios and apartments are available for short, or long term stays. The booking process is very similar to hotels, but serviced apartments offer considerably better value for money. The main differences between using serviced accommodation and staying in a hotel include the provision of a kitchenette area with self-catering facilities, Freeview television and Wi-Fi. These are often things that are charged for at hotels. In addition, you are free to bring your own food and alcoholic beverages without the worry of utilising room service or eating at specified mealtimes. Our self check in service gives guests the freedom to check in as and when they please, and gives a greater sense of privacy, adding to that ‘home from home’ feel. Our Housekeeping staff will service your room with towels and linen every third day, and again this can be done at your convenience. The suites range from studios to one or two bedrooms and penthouses. We also offer themed suites which are ideal for special occasions, or just for a little extra luxury. These self catering suites were constructed and furnished in 2010, but still boast many original features of our Victorian textile mill, such as the exposed stone walls and impressive wooden roof beams. This combined with modern and contemporary décor and facilities present a stylish base for work, leisure or just a getaway.Don’t forget! We can negotiate preferential rates for frequent users and corporate guests. BreakfastOur Bistro onsite is open for evening meals and breakfast from 9am and there are many great quality restaurants around Lindley. If you would prefer a continental breakfast pack to be placed in your room prior to your stay, we would be more than happy to arrange this. ... more   less
