I could not fault this place at all... Service is great, food is delicious in the Werner Restaurant - cant say i have ventured out of the main hotel to try the other restaurants - and the cocktails and top notch. You feel like royalty as soon as your cab pulls up outside!! The hotel is beautifully decorated and its well worth the price you pay!

Room Tip: Stay in the main hotel

Booked a table for 12 friends to join me in celebrating 40 years service with my organisation. Service, food and ambience excellent. Good wide ranging menu with a varied choice of wines. Great relaxed atmosphere in a wonderful setting. Although the lunch finished a little later than their closing time, we were not rushed which added to my special day. Definitely will be returning soon. Many thanks to one and all!

We celebrated my mothers 80th birthday with Sunday Lunch at Luton Hoo in the Werhner Restaurant. It was a total pleasure from the moment we stepped through the doors. The greeting was warm and friendly, out coats taken and we went through to the lounge for pre lunch drinks. All the staff are friendly and helpful. Lunch was beyond perfect, the view was spectacular. We had a party of 8 and everyone of us wants to go back very soon.
Pick the phone up and book it, you will not be disappointed.

Room Tip: Ask for a table by the window the views are beautiful.

As all other reviewers have stated Luton Hoo looks amazing both inside and out. Particularly tempting for North Londoners this beautiful property can be reached comfortably in under an hour.
We booked the least pricey room but it was lavishly furnished and very substantial in size. We checked in late and the welcome we received from one of the 2 staff on reception was distinctly chilly although she did warm up when she showed us our room which seemed to be a task she would rather have not undertaken, initial impressions count though.

Breakfast is served in the grand main dining room and is of a standard one would expect but again the service is a bit slip-shod. My wife's order of eggs benedict with salmon rather than ham came with ham. The mistake was noticed immediately, the extra cost cancelled, the apologies profuse (all staff seem to be very well versed in saying sorry, it seems they have too much practice).

On the 2nd day we were offered 4 different types of toast, ordered our preference and then received the wrong one - all trivial and normally it would not be mentioned but the biggest disappointment was finding out that neither of the 2 hotel main restaurants had any availability for dinner when we enquired about making a reservation earlier that afternoon. To be told in a slightly snide manner that the restaurants are often booked up days ahead on Saturday night suggests that the first time visitor should somehow know this even though absolutely no indication was given on booking or on arrival of this state of affairs.
In the end we had to eat room service from a limited menu. My wife's "lamb skewers" from this menu were virtually inedible.

We also could not have afternoon tea on either day because it was booked out often by non-residents. I appreciate that this is clearly a money-spinner for the hotel but surely allowances should be made for hotel guests. Some staff are very friendly, others find smiling a challenge and some look extremely dowdy. Also we returned to our room at 4.30pm only to find that it still had not been made up.

On the plus side Luton Hoo provides ample grounds to wander around which look particularly beguiling in the autumn. The pool and spa are attractive and the golf course looks great. Yet again the 19th hole clubhouse bar was let down by a very depressing member of staff who was incapable of smiling.
All in all this is just another example of an amazing looking stately home hotel in England that has every box ticked apart from the most important one - the training and recruitment of top-notch staff; its what everyone always remembers and is the main reason why one would return or not - clearly they do as the hotel seemed packed so maybe we had a succession of bad luck. Regarding prices it seems quite reasonable so I'd like to give it another chance as the potential is certainly there.

My husband and I had a meal at Adams Brasserie for our first wedding anniversary recently and we had a lovely time! The staff we friendly and asked us several times during our meal if everything was to out satisfaction and if we would like more drinks. The food was delicious and a real treat. they even bought us out a lovely plate at the end with Happy Anniversary written in chocolate and little brownies, strawberries and vanilla cream! which we thought was so thoughtful, it made our evening! The restaurant was cozy and relaxed and we enjoyed looking at all the photographs of the various films that have been shot there! We would definitely recommend Adams Brasserie to friends for special occasions.

Hidden well off the public roads, and far from the motorways, the Luton Hoo is a jewel to behold. A very grand old structure set on equally grand and very expansive surrounding grounds, the Hoo is breath taking. I would have paid just for the drive up to the property - it is magnificent. There are "greeters" early in the drive to the hotel to help you find your way, who also announce your arrival to other staff waiting at the door to assist you. Don't get put off by assuming all is pretentious, just genuine, old-style attentiveness - at your service. Check their web site for more details and I could go on forever describing the well manicured lawn, free-ranging pheasants and over the top decor as befits the palace that it is. I believe it benefited from the handiwork of one Mr. Capability Brown, a regular horticultural architect/landscape designer on call for royalty in the 1700's. Dinner and breakfast in the Wehrner Restaurant was equally impressive and memorable. We really hated we had to leave.

Room Tip: rooms within the grand house were pricey, indeed, but the adjoining wing's rooms were definitely...

We met friends for the Jazz lunch at the Brasserie, whilst everything went well,I felt more than a little disappointed by the plate of food plonked down in front of me.We all had roast lamb, that was ok.Was more than a little surprised when it arrived....a complete plate,no side dish of vegetables, thankfully I had asked for my gravy to be served separately or that would of been on the plate.Sorry but this is not what I expect from a 5star establishment
