Very interesting recommend to anyone. Show real history of Luton that few people may have forgotten. Also great gadgets to play round with for kids and adults. It does not all to do with Luton also Bedfordshire and surrounding areas.

Had Great day.

There is much of interest for people from Bedfordshire and surrounding counties. One rooms subject at the moment is the lace industry that centred on Bedfordshire, and surrounding counties.Another room on the ground floor has many artefacts regarding the Beds and Herts Regiment, and on a Wednesday between 10 and midday former members of the Regiment are there to answer queries.Upstairs there is a lot of floor space given to the hat trade which was a large employer in Luton. At the moment one room is dedicated to the work and play of children in Victorian times but I have no idea how long that will continue as it was supposed to finish at the end of June and here we are in August and it is still there.

If you have any connection to Luton then you must visit. Even if you haven't it is a really interesting place to spend an hour or two, with regularly changing exhibitions, some from the British Museum.
It is in a very old but beautiful building which limits access and the shop and tea room are restricted in space. Also take a stroll round Wardown park where the museum is situated.

Full of local history, particularly in relation to the history of the hat trade. They have so many historic items that they can only diplay a small part at any one time, but they work hard at rotating exhibits and changing them to keep a variety for regular visitors.
