“Excellent family trip out”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed April 29, 2013

We called in at Stockwood to break up a long journey on the motorway. What an excellent find!! We have two small children and they loved it here. We had a lovely picnic in the gardens, and a walk around the different gardens. The gardens are beautifully kept and are all different styles including a sensory garden. There is a bee exhibition which was interesting and a small museum. The play area is divided so that the toddlers can play on one side, which includes a little slide on pretend grass. On the other side is a big adventure playground for older children, with big climbing frames and climbing wall. There is a cafe on site, although we did not visit as we had our own food and a gift shop at the end with a good selection of gifts and little toys. Overall, a very nice trip for a couple of hours and free admission.

“good day out for all family”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed April 16, 2013

I have always like Stockwood, was a place that i went to many times when i was young , so it was nice to go back again. The Discovery centre, next to the golf course, has vehicles of old times with interesting different exhibitions at the end.(The car museum is free but a small charge for the exhibition). This summer it was 'mini beasts', which featured all kinds of insects and other creepy things, last year they had a dinosaur one. My sons loved it although i have to say left me a bit creeped out at the end. Its a small exhibtion but at only £12 for family of 4 was worth it. After we went to the shop followed by a walk round the gardens . We did stop of at the coffee shop, but its quite pricey and they do not clear any food left lying around so we didnt stay long. After all that we popped into the driving range next door and hit a couple of buckets of balls. We all had a great time , and well worth it. Its a cheap day out and something all the family will enjoy.

“Avoid rude staff in cafe”

Very, very rude staff in cafe which should be avoided at all costs, otherwise your day will be ruined!

“Wouldn't believe you're in Luton”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed April 11, 2013

I used to go here all the time when i was a kid and i loved it, I haven't been for years but i heard that it had been done up so i was interested to see what it now looked like. My boyfriend and I went to see what it was like, there were a few changes from when i was younger but was still great. Massive, beautiful gardens where you can bring your own lunch and eat it (perfect for a sunny day)

It was a great way to kill a few hours and it was FREE!! which makes a change as nothing is anymore. The only problem was it was half term which meant a lot of children running around. Its beautiful inside, you really wouldn't believe that you're actually in Luton;Farley Hill.
