“home sweet home”

Alison is very friendly and does a great job of making her home a comfortable and enjoyable place to stay. She offers a great 'English' breakfast made from local produce. Her home is a short drive from the airport, and I recommend her B&B to anyone who appreciates good hospitality and genuine friendliness. She is about to renovate her kitchen and dining area, so once that is done she'll have more space to swing her cat. Wishing you all the best Alison, and a holiday too.

A mate of mine visited me from London and asked for anywhere to go for tea and scones...

Found this BnB.... asked Alison, the propreitor if ok to just come round for tea and cakes...

She said yes...and how delicious they were...

she joined my mate and I...and we had a prett chilled out chat over pot of everlasting Tea ...and home made fresh out the oven scones with cream and jam...and cake...

good value for money... I thought 15 squid for both..... I am sure you can get cheaper elsewhere....but this was just pure class... and fresh..... the nearest thing to this would be afternoon lunch at Luton Hooe...for thirty squid....

We stayed at Alison's on our way back to Spain...we were FIVE. She was very nice to our son (15) and daughter (7). My mum (71) was delighted and my husband and me felt as if we were visiting a close and caring friend. The house is tidy and comfortable; tasty and more than enough breakfast...She cooked and sung and smiled and it was really joyfull. Sure, we'll come back, Alison, you are a really special person.

Alison is a lovely hostess. We called at late notice and there were no rooms available but Alison offered us a sofa bed in the living room. This was very comfortable and much needed. Alison proceeded to tell us all about the local train and bus services to help us with our journey to Knebworth. She even offered to pick us up from our concert if we needed it!!!

If you want a B&B that makes you feel welcome, that feels like home, with a hostess who is super friendly and a great cook - then look no further than Bakewell House. The whole experience from booking through to leaving on the last day was an absolute pleasure (although leaving was a little sad). Alison knows how to look after her guests and provides what must be the most amazing B&B breakfast. I couldn't fault any part of my 4 day stay and will make this my first choice next time I'm visiting Luton in the future.

There is really nothing negative to say about this wonderful B&B or the lovely host, Alison.
The house is very warm and cosy, the rooms are beautifully decorated and have everything you need during your stay. The breakfast is just to good to be true and Alison is a great host who makes you feel welcome and at home the second you walk in the door.
We definitely enjoyed our long weekend here and if we ever come back to Luton, this will be the place to stay!!!! Just great!

We spent a night at Bakewell House in April 2012 and had a lovely stay. Alison is very welcoming and friendly, the food is delicious and the homebaked cake on arrival is a extra touch that made us feel like one of the family. We found there was plenty of room for our 3 year old and 20 month old in one room and our 4 week old shared with us. In the morning we were particularly grateful for Alison taking our baby for a while so we could have a slightly less frazzled breakfast. The older two felt right at home with Marmalade the cat who is very content to be stroked in the not-so-gentle way that toddlers have, and the garden gave them space to run around while we packed the car. The off-street parking within the grounds was very convenient. I was also pleased to discover that the cat stays downstairs and even though I'm very allergic, I wasn't affected at all. The place is clean, well furnished and looks attractive. We enjoyed our stay so much we came back 2 weeks later for another night and would happily recommend Bakewell House to our friends.
