Nothing is too much trouble here, superb service, amazing food and a personal touch that makes it a totally relaxing stay. From an offer to dry our drenched clothes next to the aga to the tour around the farm this truly is an exceptional place. The roaring fire while enjoying the top restaurant style food is a recipe for a post dinner snooze! Thoroughly recommended.

Well in all honesty it would have been relaxing if I wasn't celebrating a friends birthday and having far too much fun!!! Was the perfect stay catching up with friends and I am certainly planning to return to take advantage of a more relaxing visit. It is a great place to stay and explore the local area and if you don't want to go far a good pub is walking distance away.

With stunning views and farm animals on the doorstep you cant ask for more. I am telling friends and family about it as it is perfect for a trip away.

Having spent Christmas with the family and wanting a relaxing break, we stayed at Farthingwood Barn, with our dog Poppy and the family. When we arrived we were greeted by Rachael who was friendly and cheerful and had put up a lovely big Christmas tree with decorations for us, making it wonderfully Christmassy. The barn was large and well equipped, with a large kitchen and large table and chairs, making it ideal for Christmas lunch! Beds were comfortable and the barn was very clean. The chickens, geese, ducks were all very grateful for any leftover bread etc., and are right outside the window. We had a meal in the farmhouse restaurant. If you stay here or in Eden Lodge, I urge you to have a meal here, we went out several times during our stay, including a Michelin starred restaurant in Exeter and the meal in the farmhouse was by far the best meal we had. Great surroundings, lovely, private dining, log fire, excellent food and service, coffee by the fire, excellent! Thankyou Rachael and Julian for a memorable stay, hopefully be back again sometime soon!

Room Tip: If you are planning a visit to Exmoor with children, they will love it here!

Spent a couple of nights at the beginning of our tour around Devon. This is a basic Devon farm house with roaring log fire and really nice people running the enterprise who obviously put a lot into making their gusets feel at home - nothing is too much trouble. Dinners on offer are basic and hearty produced with local ingredients and they have a drinks license.

Watch out for the steep drive and pot holes around the house but enjoy the quietness and countryside.

I first visited North Wheddon farm with my daughter, 7 years ago, and stayed B&B. This was such an enjoyable experience that I have intended a second visit ever since to show my husband this fantastic place. This September, we stayed in Farthingwood Barn with a couple of friends and our dogs. Rachael and Julian were the perfect hosts and made us welcome from day one. Nothing was too much trouble and we had a 'welcome pack' of home-made bread, their own sausages and eggs. The setting is idyllic, with no light pollution, the barn extremely comfortable and is home from home with all the amenities you could want. The service and food in their own restaurant is well worth experiencing, as is the local pub. The farm is ideally placed to visit Exmoor and the Devon and Somerset coasts. There are many interesting places to visit from here - a week is not long enough! But you don't have to leave the farm to enjoy the countryside and peace of this place - it is all there on your doorstep!
