“fabulous food, fabulous service!!”
Reviewed August 6, 2014

we travelled to minehead for the weekend for my partners 40th and booked the old harbour house restaurant for a party of 15 people. Sue and phil were great and expected no deposit even though it was such a large booking. they only asked that i call the day before and choose starters and mains for everyone.
we were treated brilliantly the entire time we were there and nothing was too much to ask. phil had some great stories to tell about the property and its decor and his family. my 8yr old didn't want to eat anywhere else for the entire duration of our weekend away! every single plate of food that was served was exceptional. i honestly couldn't fault a thing. please visit this restaurant and i promise you won't be disappointed. thanks phil and sue xxx

“fabulous if you like seafood”
Reviewed August 3, 2014

We arrived at this restaurant to a warm welcome and iced water with lemon was brought to the table without asking. We ordered the seafood platter. We had between us 2 small lobsters, a dressed crab shell, langoustines, prawns, smoked salmon rolled with poached salmon inside and a fish pate. This was served with dauphinois potatoes and salad and bread.
Everything was first class and I enjoyed every mouthful. The attention to detail was superb. Finger bowls and spare napkins for drying fingers were on the table, as were implements for digging out the lobster meat, and a spare bowl for the empty shells.
We were then given a sorbet before dessert, which was a fabulous hazelnut meringue ice cream with summer fruits and cream. It was 'to die for'..We then had a complementary port to finish. If we were local to this restaurant I would be a regular. Seafood of this calibre is never cheap but we felt that it was worth every penny.
There was just one negative. There is only 1 unisex loo and if the restaurant is busy there could be a problem.I tried 3 times before being sucessful, but this was a very small thing.
I thoroughly recommend this menu-you will not be disappointed

“Lovely find ”
Reviewed July 9, 2014 via mobile

This was recommended by the owners is the B&B we were staying at. You need to book in advance and place your order the day before. We chose one of the special menus. The food is plain English food, beautifully cooked by Sue. Service was excellent and mine host (Phil) treated you like a long lost friend and a guest in their home. Lovely cozy atmosphere. A pleasure to eat here. Would definitely eat there again. Thank you Sue, Phil and staff

“Lovely little restaurant”

I when here with a large group of friends, the staff were very accommodating and service us very politely and there was just the right amount of time between courses.
