We came to minehead for a short break, we stayed at the Wellington for just one night. We wished we could have stayed longer here as it was great.
The room was comfortable and clean, comfy bed, large bathroom. A fan provided in room too which was handy as it was quite warm.
Ideal location in the town centre and the pub itself serves good food and is friendly and clean.
We will return..

We found this place on laterooms and decided to book before heading to butlins the following day. Big mistake! The room we were in was dirty, the carpet looked as though it hadn't been hoovered and the bath was filthy along with biscuit crumbs all over the room menus. We had a "family" room which was a fold out sofa that was the most uncomfortable thing and a double bed. The room was above the main doors and the nightclub! The noise at night was horrendous with a drunkern slob swearing and smashing glasses when I looked out the window he could barely stand but amazingly was still being served?! When we finally nodded off they had a food delivery at 4am dragging metal cages over cobbles for an hour!!! Needless to say I woke up not a happy bunny and when moaning at reception I was just told they can't do anything about the noise... How about warn families staying in the noisiest room in minehead or stop serving people that are off their faces!!!! Letter to head office in the post!!!!

We came down to Minehead for a wedding, and stayed here on the Saturday night. We arrived at 10:30 (check in 2pm) and explained to the receptionist that we were attending a wedding at 2:30pm, and if there was any chance of an early check-in, or just a room to get ready in. She told us to come back at 12:30. Which we did, and she offered us a room - she was very helpful and nothing was too much trouble for her. The room was spacious, clean and the bed was comfy. 10/10 for value for money. The hotel is attached to the pub. Great value for money on the breakfast - drinks - staff friendly. Would stay here again and would recommend. Thank you, we had a great stay !

A shame really, a great value pub for meals and drinks, but I found the place a bit too dark and dated! The mushroom painted woodchip walls in my room didn't help. Bed comfy enough, but the feather pillows were a bit flat and not very feathery! I should have asked for different pillows - realised too late. Room big enough and a nice flat screen telly. For me, the corridors were the nicest and brightest part of this Weatherlodge. Whether I visit again, probably not, despite a helpful couple of receptionists, the bar staff didn't seem overly happy. Would probably find somewhere else to stay in Minehead, but if you want a cheap meal its OKI..

Room Tip: Top floor rooms are probably best - ask for a room facing the church..

Belonging to the Wetherspoon chain this hotel could actually do so much better but I guess they are happy to run it just like what they do best..running a pub!!
The most important "attention to detail" was missing in every aspect..
It was a very special trip for us to North Devon and we stayed in the hotel for 3 nights. The reservations was initially very attentive and quick, gave us a better deal than shown in the website.
After reading the reviews I sent an email requesting for a quiet room and mentioning about our occasion but guess what! we were given the tiniest room in the first floor , facing the next buildings ugly dirty rooftop, with a kitchen exhaust and some other motor running throughout the night , with every single noise from the pub clearly heard and the doors to the pub being constantly banged every other second.(almost forgot.. with the movable weightless beds that you would normally have for the kids with spring mattress! every home would have better mattress and beds..I am sure.. guys you cannot have this type of beds in a decent hotel) and the tiniest toilet you can ever be in with a standing shower where you literally have to stand like a MUMMY to take a shower.
It was like we were being punished for having a special occasion!!! :)
The reception was hardly manned, any time you tried to reach someone the phones would just keeps ringing and no one to answer.. Even if someone does you hardly get any requests on time .we had to call 2 to 3 times to get some sugar and milk..and then we stopped calling them for anything..

Ok why I am still giving the average rating instead of the poor.. When we came down to complain we were given an upgrade... my god what a relief that was .. a room with a u turn .. big room with very good beds , spacious toilets with bath ..
Guess the hotel facility and the quality of the fittings differ between the rooms ,unless you know what you are getting there are very good chances your stay gets ruined very easily with the dingy sort of rooms they keep reserved for special occasions :)

The rooms were very clean and like the others were saying if you under budget, just looking for a clean room to crash ... go ahead its all yours and its worth it .. The pub below would keep you even happier.but if you want anything more please don’t ... do not go with any tourist expectations ...you will be thoroughly disappointed ...
People in the reception didnt even know about the basic attractions and could not guide us in any way ... we tried having a chat once but that was enough to know there was complete lack of local tourism knowledge...
Location is great ... with bus connections to every place just outside.. few minutes walk to the beach .
great location , lots of potential for this hotel if they would start running it like one ...

Room Tip: Make sure you talk to them about the room you are about to get , especially if you are a light sleep...

We were invited back by the hotel manager after problems with our last visit. It was much better this time and would visit again. The room was clean and heated very well and had all you need for your stay. It is still a problem with noise when the late bar closes at around 1.30am but as thier was no "theme weekend" at Butlins the noise did n't last to long. The staff were friendly and the food was typicl wetherspoon great value for the money you pay as are the drinks. So for a place to stay it is in a good location good food, drinks and staff. The noise is a problem it will disturb you on a weekend but give it a go

Room Tip: Ask for one overlooking the side of the building avoid the inner rooms over the court yard this can...
