It was a lovely, refurbished house with an ecclectic collection of furniture and artwork. The breakfast was very yummy, and Alex pointed to us the best way around to navigate exmoor national park. The garden, which he encourages you to walk around, is lovely - and it is great to see real 'free range' chickens!

Lovely hotel, ideal location with beautiful views. Alex is an extremely warm and welcoming, helpful and knowledgeable host and nothing was too much trouble for him. Delicious breakfast with local produce, especially eggs from the on-site hens which my ten year old son enjoyed collecting. A great place to stay.

This family-run hotel is just lovely. What can be nicer than friendly, personal attention, clean accommodation,a great breakfast and a lovely atmosphere.

Add to that a good location for sight-seeing (helped by advice from 'mine host') and the scene for a great break is set !

Oh, and don't forget the chickens and chicks in the tranquil gardenand their sheep-dog buddy, Tip.

Thank you Alex and Naomi.

What a superb hotel. Good facilities, with an excellent fresh cooked breakfast. The owner is very friendly and went out of his way to help us find the more remote parts of Exmoor, taking time to mark up a map with possible routes to get the best views. Which without his help we would not have found. Each room is individually decorated. Our room had a lovely view across Minehead.

Room Tip: Try to get a room on the top floor, excellent views across Minehead

Just come back from a weekend stopping at the Marston Lodge in Minehead and must say we were thoroughly impressed by the whole experience. Alex and Naomi were perfect hosts, the bedroom was very comfortable, the hotel is full of character and in a brilliant location looking down over Minehead. The breakfast was supreme and set us up for the day. We would certainly go back again - hopefully when the weather is warmer.

Room Tip: They would all appear to be good but those at the front overlook the see.

10 friends went for a combined birthdays weekend. The hosts were fabulous, friendly and the food fantastic e.g. fresh eggs from the resident chickens and all locally sourced organic produce. The local knowledge they had of where to go, even on a damp, cold weekend added massively to the enjoyment. The hotel was furnished in a Victorian chic style that was totally in keeping with the building. We all said that we would like to return when the weather was kinder - even so the wonderful hosts Naomi and Alex, pulled out all the stops to ensure we had a lovely time. The sing-song in front of a roaring fire on the last night was memorable. Highly recommended.

Room Tip: Rooms at the front have a better view down to the beach The walk down to the town is OK but the walk...
