“Remembrance Paintings”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed August 20, 2012

National Trust A small chapel commissioned by a family whose son died on return from WW1 from malaria and whose war service had not been acknowledged by the government as he did not die in battle or from enemy action. Does not take long to view but worth the visit.

“Truly A Work Of Art!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed August 11, 2012

The Stanley Spencer paintings depicting scenes from World War 1 are incredible. The immediate impact of them is wonderful and, as you take more time to study them, you see so much more! Spencer has included himself in several of them and each tells a story. The guide was most informative, pointing out details you would not necessarily notice yourself.
Certainly one of the National Trust's most unusual properties, certainly worth a visit.
