“First Class! Can't wait to go back!!”
Reviewed March 19, 2012

Just returned from a Spa break weekend at Donnington Valley - a birthday treat from my other half!!

Wow - we had an amazing time. When we checked in, we were told that we were being given a room upgrade, from a classic room to an executive one. What a lovely birthday surprise!! And what a room it was. On the second floor, with patio doors giving a beautiful view across the golf course. Huge room, massive bed, with a sofa, flat screen tv and dvd player and a bathroom that was amaxing. I could swim around in the bath!!!!!! I am a bad sleeoper, but I had the best nights sleep here - it was so comfy and so quiet!!

Spent the afternoon in the Spa relaxing before we went to dinner in the evening. Had a drink in the bar beforehand and it has a lovely setting. Nice open fire and lots of seating, on two levels. Our meal was excellent, the service was impeccable and we couldn't fault a thing. In fact, we found all the staff very pleasant and willing to please. Nothing was too much trouble and we felt very welcome.

Sunday was spent back in the spa, with a 25 minute, shoulder, neck and back massage - bliss! I could have stayed there all day

This was out third visit to Donnington Valley and we have already booked to go back again in July. If you are looking for a relaxing weekend, with amazing staff and surrondings, lovely food and a tranquil setting, you won't go wrong if you book a weekend here.

I stayed at the donnington valley hotel for my 40th birthday weekend with 7 of my girlfriends. I cannot fault our stay from start to finish. Beth, the event organiser, couldn't have been anymore helpful, and for a relatively small party too. She helped me book a shooting and archery event using an outsourced company (which was excellent fun and well hosted and organised). She arranged for a small private dining room too. The service was first class. The staff couldn't do enough to help, the food was great as was the spa. The rooms were spotless and of high standard. Really good value for money. I can't recommend highly enough and I've stayed at many hotels that are a lot more expensive and no where near as good. In fact it was so good we've decided to make it an annual event and go back next year.

I recently stayed at the hotel for a Racing weekend with friends and what can I say.... The staff are impeccably attentive to any request and clearly enjoy what they do. The food in the restaurant was superb and the choice of drinks available outstanding.
The room was comfortable and spacious and very well priced and I could not hesitate to recommend this Hotel to anyone. A special mention to Chris , the sommelier and the team that work alongside him in the restaurant. A pleasure to stay here and will most definately be staying again.

Service in the bar was terrible - we had to look for staff to help us and the sandwiches were a triple layer of stale bread with an tiny amount of filling - not good value at all for the £7.95 they charge- beware too of tea and coffee prices £3.25 for a tiny cup of coffee!!

Sorrounds are lovely but its a real shame about the food quality in the bar area

We went to this hotel with my 4 month old baby and parents to attend a wedding at the racecourse. We had a really good stay with everyone very helpful and accommodating with our daughter and her needs. She was welcome in the restaurant and we were given one of the bigger rooms to house the travel cot. Overall the hotel was clean and friendly and I would recommend this hotel. My father and husband played golf and had a very enjoyable round, they made special mention of the chap in the pro shop.

Just spent two nights here and had a great time. Was slightly worried reading some of the previous reviews but it really was excellent. The staff could not be more helpful, attentive and polite - it was my birthday and they really went that extra mile (thanks for the fruit and chocolates). The pool and spa treatments are fabulous but book any treatments well in advance so you can choose exactly what you want as they do get booked up quickly and it would be real shame to miss out. All the food was lovely whether you eat in the bar or restaurant - they have a great selection of dishes. The only slight niggles are that our bedroom carpet could have done with a clean as it had quite a few stains, the toilet flush was very noisy and the TV does not have any freeview channels which seems strange as we will all be digital in the next few months.(you only have BBC1 and 2, ITV1, Channel 4 and 5 plus a couple of sports channels).

Room Tip: We had an executive room which is huge with an enormous bed.

Booked a cheeky evening spa trip with the girlfriend. My initial fears of an 'Alan Partridge' style hotel were dispelled on entering. Lovely staff, very clean, excellent spa, highly recommended.
