Fabulous hotel with plenty of charm. Every room is different and quirky.

The hotel corridoors and restaurant don't have the best fit out but the rooms more than make up for it. The food is tasty.

The staff are friendly and go out of their way to be professional and helpful.

Highly recommend.

Room Tip: Every room in the hotel is different as its an old manour house. Room 224 is enormous - well worth...

Stayed last weekend for two nights, and cannot find fault with The Donnington Grove. From arrival till departure everything worked well. We had a massive room in the main house which looked out onto the golf course and even though the weather was not great, it was lovely. We ate dinner one evening which could not be faulted, the same with breakfast. All of the staff we encountered were polite, friendly and cheerful. We will definitely return.

We stayed at this hotel as part of a weekend break and played golf too. The rooms looked newly decorated, very modern with a walk in shower/wet room in the bathroom. The room had its own 'conservatory' with stunning views over the lake and golf course. The bedroom and shower benefitted from underfloor heating and added to the 'luxery'.

We enjoyed the meal, service and golf and intend to return for this great value experience.

Room Tip: Request a room with a view of the lake.

Dear Delburtmaltbug,

Thank you for taking the time and trouble to post your review, I was delighted to hear you enjoyed your recent stay and the golf at Donnington Grove.

The Summer House rooms where youe stayed are recent to the estate and in addition all of the furniture in the main house has now been repolished and re-upholstered, maybe stay in on of these next time. The bedrooms and the suite have amazing views over the course and lake.

I look forward to welcoming you back in the near future, thank you once again for the great feedback.

Kind regards,

Nigel

We stayed for one night on New Year's Eve. We had a lovely room and bathroom. Perhaps could do with a bit of modernising but perfectly acceptable. For new year there was a party in a marquee. We had a great meal and very good service followed by a great disco. Breakfast was excellent and we had a lovely walk in the grounds

We had a beautiful room in the main building, overlooking the lake. The staff were friendly and helpful. The only critisism would be that the dinning room lacks atmosphere but the food and service were good.

This was a one night stay in December, so the hotel was extremely quiet and downstairs felt slightly cold.
Our room was large very comfortable bathroom spacious, plenty of hot water. We ate in the restaurant and had excellent service and the Chef made an extra effort with dietary problems without any fuss, full marks.
The views are lovely (even in winter) but this hotel I expect comes alive in the summer, with its golf course and weddings. So if you are into golf and/or want to get married in Berkshire definitely worth a try.
One draw back there is no lift in the main building.
Dreweatts Auction house is less than five minutes away, so on a rainy day you may find something of interest.

Room Tip: One over looking the Park/Golf course

Dear ScotlandMartians,

Firstly thank you for taking the time and trouble to post you comments on TripAdvisor, i was delighted to hear that you enjoyed your recent stay.

We have a range of accommodation at Donnington Grove, so to avoid the main staircase in the Manor House I would recommend some of the ground floor rooms or the superb Summer house accommodation - just next to the main hotel.

Please contact me directly upon the next occassion you wish to stay and I will be happy to discuss your requirements.

In closing may I once again thank you for your positive comments, my team are always encouraged by feedback - especially when its good.

Merry Christmas and best wishes,

Nigel Green
