“fabulous b&b”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed September 14, 2009

We had a 2 night stay at holly croft in Sept.On arriving we had no idea it was a b&b,we just thought it was someones house, which of course it was.We were welcomed by John and shown round and it couldnt be faulted. He gave us our keys and we were free to come and go as we pleased. The garden was gorgeous and the breakfast was even better, everything from strawberries to a full english and lots in between. We missread the room description and our room was really comfortable but we had to cross a landing to get to our own private bathroom, next time we stay we will book the twin room which has an en suite. We were provide with dressing gowns and slippers so it wasnt a major problem. We are probably being picky now but the bathroom could have done with a couple of glasses for rinsing after brushing teeth and the hospitality tray in the bedroom was sqeezed onto a small table so no spare space ,you had to be carefull making your cuppa in the morning. My wifes serviette at breakfast which looked clean was, on opening it dirty. But overall a fabulous place with superb hosts and a quiet location.Would certainly go back.

Breakfast was very good, both healthy and rich, i.e. with lots of nicely prepared fruit, joghurt and well-cooked English breakfast. The garden is beautiful, the rooms are cosy and quiet (perhaps a little stuffed), John and Christine are friendly and very helpful. The B&B is situated in a residential neighbourhood with the advantages of quiteness, safety, greenness etc., but the disadvantage that there is no nice inn just around the corner or much else that invites for a nice little evening stroll or a walk directly from the B&B, i.e. you always have to take the car to get anywhere more interesting (which isn't too far though!!).

This lovely B&B is exquisitely furnished with antiques and knick knacks and caters for your every need. There is a separate communal sitting room for guests overlooking the beautiful garden, and upstairs we had a lovely room with our own separate bathroom. We could want for nothing!
The fabulous breakfast was taken around a shared table, and Chris could not have been a better, more thoughtful hostess.
