We stayed at this excellent B&B on a recent trip to Scarborough. The welcome was lovely, the room very comfortable and breakfast superb. This establishment deserves every one of its stars and we would certainly hope to stay again if in the area.

Well, we certainly thought so.We stayed with John and Christine, who have to be amongst the nicest hosts you could ever wish for, when visiting Scarborough for a family reunion and were totally delighted with every aspect. It is very difficult to write this review as all the previous ones seem to reflect exactly what we would want to say. Everything about our stay with them was perfect. The double-bedded room was beautiful peaceful, the bathroom, although not en-suite might just as well have been and John's Poached Eggs at breakfast are to die for. We cannot recommend Holly Croft highly enough and would like to think that when we visit Scarborough next we could repeat the experience. A big thank you to both John and Christine for helping to make our stay so special

We are very pleased you enjoyed your recent stay with us, we enjoy food and cooking breakfast for guests and meeting new people so it is a pleasure rather than a chore for us. We thank you for your review and hope to see you again.

We would like to thank Christine and John for welcoming us into their lovely home, the Holly Croft in Scarborough, England. From the moment we arrived, we were made to feel welcome but were also given our privacy to enjoy the lovely surroundings of both the interior and exterior of their home. Christine is a talented decorator who designed and made most of the beautiful window treatments in their home and I thoroughly enjoyed talking with her about future decorating plans for one of the guest bedrooms. We shared a delightful breakfast with another couple in the dining room and my husband was treated to a "full-English" while I enjoyed an assortment of cereals, yogurts and fresh fruits. We had a very pleasant two-night stay at the Holly Croft and highly recommend this B&B to travelers who enjoy the finer comforts of home.

We have stayed three times now at Holly Croft B& B, our first visit being in September 2009. On arriving at we straightaway felt at home and welcome... lovely cup of tea served with meringues hit the right spot on our arrival. From the sitting room we had a view of the beautiful garden. If it had been warmer we would have explored it further. On our first visit we had the double bedroom with private bathroom across the landing. This was huge and comfortable, although on subsequent visits we chose the twin room with the ensuite which suited us better. Breakfasts to die for- you could have boneless kippers but we went for the traditional English. There was fresh fruit yogurt, cereals, fresh fruit juice to complement this. And the sausages - wow! The Victorian house is tastefully furnished and decorated and yet there is a feeling of being at home. The village pub - five minutes walk away - is welcoming and serves honest, good value food (try the steak pie) and well kept real ales. The owners of Holly Croft are genuinely interested in you as people. Because they are long time locals, they will happily offer advice on places you want to visit, on top of the information already provided in the lounge. We have already recommended this place to our friends.

We had a 2 night stay at holly croft in Sept.On arriving we had no idea it was a b&b,we just thought it was someones house, which of course it was.We were welcomed by John and shown round and it couldnt be faulted. He gave us our keys and we were free to come and go as we pleased. The garden was gorgeous and the breakfast was even better, everything from strawberries to a full english and lots in between. We missread the room description and our room was really comfortable but we had to cross a landing to get to our own private bathroom, next time we stay we will book the twin room which has an en suite. We were provide with dressing gowns and slippers so it wasnt a major problem. We are probably being picky now but the bathroom could have done with a couple of glasses for rinsing after brushing teeth and the hospitality tray in the bedroom was sqeezed onto a small table so no spare space ,you had to be carefull making your cuppa in the morning. My wifes serviette at breakfast which looked clean was, on opening it dirty. But overall a fabulous place with superb hosts and a quiet location.Would certainly go back.

Breakfast was very good, both healthy and rich, i.e. with lots of nicely prepared fruit, joghurt and well-cooked English breakfast. The garden is beautiful, the rooms are cosy and quiet (perhaps a little stuffed), John and Christine are friendly and very helpful. The B&B is situated in a residential neighbourhood with the advantages of quiteness, safety, greenness etc., but the disadvantage that there is no nice inn just around the corner or much else that invites for a nice little evening stroll or a walk directly from the B&B, i.e. you always have to take the car to get anywhere more interesting (which isn't too far though!!).
