Went to see the 'Jiving Lindy Hoppers' at the Stephen Joseph and they were absolutely outstanding. Their tap dancing routines were amazing. The orchestra, 20's / 30's music and the whole experience was excellent. Would go again when next in Town.

A visit to Scarborough is not complete without a trip to the Stephen Joseph. Be sure to combine the theatre with a meal in their very excellent restaurant, which can also accommodate your dessert served during the interval if you so desire! There are two stages, but the Round is the famous one - both offer great views, if a little cosy, and if you can, try and make it to an Alan Ayckbourn play for the maximum Scarborough experience! Always highly entertaining, brilliantly observed and witty, a truely awesome night out. A real gem.

The restaurant is upstairs in this gorgeous Art Deco old cinema and has good views. It's a useful venue if you're going to a theatre performance here. The tables are well spaced so that you don't feel cramped. A group of us had lunch. The prices looked very reasonable. Those who had the liver main course said it was very good. Those who had fishcake were disappointed - there was not much fish in it! A Welsh rarebit was not crisp on top. The coffee was very disappointing. The filter coffee was weak and the cappuccino hardly tasted of coffee at all. There's no skimmed or even semi-skimmed milk.

Went for a xmas party menu and the food was excellent. There was lots of choice and a great selection of different and varied meals.
The dessert was to die for.
The only thing letting the experience down was the fact that we were the only xmas party there and we were getting 'tutted' at from some of the people there. The staff brought a screen over to put between us which made us feel isolated.
Overall I would visit again as the food was excellent
