“3 night break”
Reviewed March 22, 2014

This was our first trip to Scarborough and we found this B&B through a search engine, it already had good reviews so I rang up and booked one nights deposit up front the rest payable on check in. We arrived on Wednesday 19th March and were welcomed by Mike a really nice guy who made us very welcome from entering the premises, later during the day we met his wife Lynn a lovely lady and again extremely helpful. We stayed in Room 8 second floor with a great sea view, The room was very clean and had all the facilities you would expect, plenty of towels and the bath towels were huge which is great because i am on the large size. Breakfast in the morning was excellent with cereals, fruit, yogurts, fruit juice a full english with toast teat or coffee, Nothing was to much effort what ever you asked for you got, the wife said the porridge was yummy give it a try, enough food to keep you going all day.
I would recommend the Paragon to anyone looking for a good, clean and reasonably priced B&B in Scarborough, the town is excellent and a 15 minute walk away.and it is a good base for visiting local attractions in the area. If you have any questions on were to go and were to eat ask Mike or Lynn they are always available and don't mind a chat with the guests. We had a lovely 3 night stay thank you.

Room Tip: if you want a sea view at a reasonable cost room 8 is the one, for a king size bed with 2 sea view w...

Just returned from a weekend stay at the Paragon and got to say couldn't fault it. Six of us in our party and we all loved it. Rooms spotless with plenty of tea, coffee and hot chocolate in the rooms. Bar area is a little gem with views over the bay. Breakfast was superb with choice of cereals, porridge, yoghurts and fruit followed by a full english finished off with jam and toast. Mike and Lynne very friendly perfect hosts well worth the money we paid and would highly recommend.

We recently stayed for the weekend in January. We have stayed several times before and keep coming back. This is now our favourite weekend break venue. Mike and Lynne are excellent hosts. They will even book you an evening meal at a restaurant in town if you wish to eat out in the evenings.
The rooms are clean and comfortable and the lounge has probably one of the best views in Scarbourough. Even when freezing cold outside it was nice and warm indoors.
Traditional breakfast is provided with an excellent choice.

Room Tip: Try the sea view rooms - well worth the small extra cost

Just returned from another great short break at the paragon. I have reviewed the paragon before so without trying to sound repetitious you really dont need to look anywhere else in scarborough to stay, just book it!. As always we were welcomed like old friends by Mike and Lynne who are the perfect hosts, which is why when you have stayed at the paragon you truly realise why some of the negative reviews are just so ridiculous. The views from the sea view rooms are just stunning and second to none.Great warm comfy rooms and of course the famous paragon breakfast speaks for themselves. Your hosts have a great knowledge of local restaurants and will order you reliable taxis on request. We will be back in june so if you are looking to stay in scarborough then do yourselves a favour and stop searching and book your room right now.

Room Tip: sea view rooms are a must

A cosy, traditional hotel with a dramatic sea view from the bar and front bedrooms.Breakfast is substantial and delicious with locally sourced fare;it is served with efficiency and alacrity.
The smaller bedrooms would perhaps benefit from refurbishing to put them on a par with the modern decor of the bar.I also prefer feather pillows.
Overall, however,we would recommend this hotel as very good value for money.

Room Tip: "The Platinum Room" is very attractive with sea views from 2 windows.
