We have just returned from our christmas break at the la baia, and we had a wonderful time.We have stayed here before,so we had some idea what to expect, and we were not disapointed in the least. The hotel has been decorated since our last visit and it looks really nice, our room{room 8} is great,a good size with a bay window to give you smashing views of the north bay and castle,The room was spotless and the beds are nice and comfortable.
The hosts Elaine and Tony are the best you could wish for, making you feel welcome and special, and where as in other hotels it may take you a day or so to feel at home,at the la baia you feel at ease from the moment you arrive.
The food is first class at the la baia, with a breakfast that will set you up for the day ahead. The bar/lounge is great and they even stocked up on my favourite drink, where else does that happen?
We had a brilliant christmas, so much so we stayed another night. All the other guests were smashing and we had a good laugh with them all.We can't wait until next christmas to go so we are going in July and again in September.

Scarborough is our favourite British seaside resort and we have been visiting for as far back as I can remember. This is our first visit to La Baia Hotel but we will certainly be back. The hotel is situated perfectly overlooking the quiet and tranquil north bay, but ideally positioned to explore the treasures of Scarborough. The full english breakfast is excellent and will set you up for day, with everything you could want on 1 plate. The evening meals are just as mouthwatering with a good choice of menu to choose from. The rooms are beautifully decorated and very comfortable and Tony and Elaine of the perfect hosts.

Our second stay at La Baia. This time, the weather was unusually warm for Scarborough, and the resort was packed with tourists. This hotel is like many along the North Bay of the town, with a familiar stairway, great sea views, and difficult parking. On the basis that there are many similar hotels all vying for business, it is the little extras which make one hotel stand out from another. Tony and Elaine are really friendly hosts, the room was in good order, and the breakfast was as good as you will get anywhere in town.

Only slight grumble, more of a suggestion really, is that the windows in the rooms do need to be looked at. With such warm weather in Scarborough, the room became very stuffy with only one window able to open. This is fine I am sure with the usual Scarborough breeze, but when it is mild, there needs to be better ventilation. I would also suggest that adding wi-fi to the hotel would be a great, and inexpensive, addition. Many hotels in the resort now do this, and as I said, it is the little things which make the difference.

All in all, a very pleasant stay, and we can warmly recommend La Baia as a great value, clean, welcoming hotel to any visitor.

We went to stay at the La Baia Hotel in Scarborough for the first time for a couple of nights in January 2008. I had been asked to book somewhere so that myself and some of my old friends from the army (we served together in Aden back in 1965/67) could get together and reminisce about old times. Wives were invited too. I wanted it to be a very special weekend, and had requested a few things out of the ordinary such as, could we have a late buffet on the second night so that we could all stay together in the same place to eat and intermingle because we would all have so much to talk about to each other and want to swap old stories. I’d also put together a picture show of old photos and asked if I could set up a projector in the lounge and play it for everyone so that they could see themselves when they were young. Despite there being other residents in the hotel, Tony and Elaine went out of their way to accommodate us, and the food, the hospitality and the quality of accommodation were top class. We were all made to feel very welcome, and all my friends said how much they had enjoyed it there and that they would like to do it again every year if we could. We had a fantastic weekend at the Hotel. It was in a lovely location on the North Bay of Scarborough with stunning views out to sea, and convenient for the town and sea front if you fancied a bit of exercise. We would highly recommend the Hotel to anyone considering a visit to Scarborough.
