Good for the kids but overall just far to expensive and the sea lion area stank to high heaven. Was summer but still no need for smell

“Dont eat there!”
Reviewed February 10, 2013

Part of the centre was closed while we where there, we hadn't been made awear of this. Quite exspensive, £44 for a family of 2 adult and 2 children Talks about the animals where very good, plenty of information. We made the mistake of having lunch there. Very slow service, took over 20mins just for sandwiches, anyone with chips where having much longer waits, plenty of people complaining about the wait, we where quite lucky to have got in before the crowd!

Could also do with agood clean and tidy!!!

“I'd stick to the beach!”
Reviewed February 9, 2013 via mobile

I took my youngest brother who was in a pram at the back end of last year. We arrived with myself having to juggle the pram with the door with the receptionist look on through the glass. My brother was free And I had a voucher so I paid then to be told that the were having construction work done so the seals weren't available and other areas also. Also that there were no ramps or lifts. When we arrived my brother was asleep so decided on a coffee. The lift wasn't working so I waited at the bottom of the stairs for approx 10mins before a member of staff passed by and I asked him for help, he was unable to help and got someone else....? I went round twice having to get the pram up and down stairs opening doors it was very hard work!! The food was nice except there was no fryer that day it had broken!! The staff were polite and helpful and my brother enjoyed it. It isn't very big and with none of the activities available it was a disappointment. I won't be returning at all.

“Too expensive.....price should be reduced during the winter months.”
Reviewed February 8, 2013

Very expensive to get in. No talks were happening despite attending as part of an organised group, only interaction was allowing the kids to touch some small sea creatures. Too cold to stay outside, some of the internal exhibits where shut off. So dark you could not read the small information posters in many places and could not even find the questions we were supposed to be answering for a quiz we were given when we arrived. Poor lay out. Highlight for the kids was the soft play area in the cafe. If you live locally it is worth getting the annual pass offer through the paper so you have somewhere for a toilet stop and play area when you are on the beach. The price in relation to the service offered and activities to participate during this feb visit was very poor value for money.

“Loved it”
Reviewed February 5, 2013

Myself and my sister spotted a voucher in our hotel lobby that meant if one person paid the other could get in for free we thought it was a bargain and decided we had to go. We took a taxi from the hotel which was surprisingly cheap and when we arrived at the sea life centre it was very quiet except for maybe one family. We were a little disappointed that the Octopus Garden closed but we loved looking at all the different fish. The Seals were our favourite they were super cute and kept performing tricks for us. It was like having the place to ourselves we are so glad we went early. We left around lunchtime and the place was starting to fill up. My tip would be to go earlier, you get time to see the animals without crowds and queues :) Would definitely go back!
