Lovely, victorian hotel opposite the italian gardens.Everything clean, and rooms tastfully decorated and roomy. Staff very friendly and helpful.Breakfast very good with an excellent choice and freshly cooked. Be aware and ask for ground floor room if not very good at climbing up and down stairs as no lift.YES, we will be staying there again.

Room Tip: No lifts but ground floor rooms available, sea view rooms have great view across the bay.

My Husband and I received a BuyaGift Voucher and we booked our two night break at the Mansion House based upon the positive reviews on Tripadvisor.

We booked a sea view room which was quite small but very cosy. The soft bath robes were gratefully received. Our room was exceptionally clean which reflected throughout the hotel.

The guest lounge was lovely and the rocking chairs were so relaxing. We were offered a complimentary glass of wine to enjoy whilst reading through the abundance of local information which was very useful as the Mansion House did not offer evening dinner which wasn’t a problem as there are restaurants within walking distance as well as the tram to the sea front nearby.

The breakfast was amazing. This is the first time I have had Smoked Salmon accompanied by Horseradish and not the last either! There was such a wide selection on the menu from the cereals through to the infused tea flavours.

All of the staff were very attentive and friendly and we were shown the outstanding apartment which is a definite must for our next stay!

Thank You to everyone at the Mansion House for our enjoyable stay and yes, the owner who was a retired Vulcan plane pilot was young and had lovely legs :-)

Room Tip: The Apartment looks fabulous

we had a 2 day bed and breakfast stay bought for us by our son and his wife. we would just like to say it was a fantastic break, and nothing was too much trouble for the staff to make our stay a happy one. the breakfast was superb and wide choice selection.my wife has problems with her mobility, and we were offered the ground floor room with very few stairs, this did mean the loss of a view , but we decided it was best as we would be out most of the day anyway. there was an option to have breakfast in ground floor lounge or brought to the room, but my wife opted to go to lower ground floor to have the meal in the dining room. the room had en-suite bath with shower over it. the room was heated by heater that we could control for our comfort, the bed had plenty bedding and pillows, there was wardrobe and plenty drawers for storage. various drinks and tea, coffee + more making facilities .a tv was also in the room and wi- fi was also available. and there was also use of dressing gowns as a bonus. a really great atmosphere and a really nice place to stay. would definitely like to revisit again, thanks to all !

Room Tip: the upper front rooms offer the sea views if that's what your after, and asking for your needs will be sorted for a better stay.

Thank you for choosing to stay with us at the Mansion House Scarborough and for taking the time to write a review. We do not advertise so all the staff really appreciate positive reviews as they work tirelessly to ensure all of our guests really enjoy their stay with us. Marzena who is our breakfast chef has received an award for her breakfasts and the choice is very extensive and always cooked to perfection. The staff will always try to ensure that guests are accommodated in the appropriate room as we do not have a lift and the stairs can be a challenge for some. On this occasion we were able to move rooms around ensuring you had no steps to climb, although this is not always possible as we have been very busy. Once again thank you very much for staying with us and for your lovely comments, we hope you will choose us again.

Had a 2 night stay here whilst meeting relatives nearby. Our room was not the largest I've ever stayed in, but everything we needed was there, was all clean and all worked. The breakfast was excellent with plenty of choices for a smallish establishment. The cooked items were all very good and cooked to order. The price for our stay was good value and I would stay here again. Our room was on the first floor which was OK, but as this place doesn't have a lift, one needs to avoid the upper floors if lots of stairs are a problem.
If I have one small criticism it is the pile of 4 cushions on the bed in our room which to me serve no useful purpose, and have to be removed and piled up on the chairs every night. Why do hotels think they need to do this?

Room Tip: No lift, so get a room on the lower floors if stairs are a problem. Not all rooms have sea views.

Fantastic hotel, amazing breakfast and plenty of it. Staff extremely friendly and helpful, nothing a problem to them. We will definitely return to this beautiful hotel with panoramic sea views. This hotel is very central to centre of town and plenty places to eat out nearby. Across the road there is a tram down to main promenade which saves a lot of walking down to bottom unless you are fit.
