From the moment we walked in, we were made to feel welcome - a glass of wine in the guests lounge. My parents had a huge room on the ground
floor (Room 1) because of restricted mobility. Our room (Room 18) was on the top floot and was delightful. All the furniture was of really good quality and a 40" Samsung LCD TV and DVD were installed in every room. Panoramic view over Scarborough from here and opposite the Italian gardens so very peaceful. Christmas decorations in every room & public area were fantastic & very tasteful - I'm not even a great fan of Christmas. Breakfasts were very hearty and all you could wish for.

We run a luxury Bed & Breakfast ourselves but were impressed with every aspect of this establishment.

Good points, Breakfast was first class, in choice and quality.
Staff were very friendly and helpfull. Beds were comfy. Room had some good touches, like fan, extra blankets and a small heater.

Not so good points, room was on verge of being cramped, with only one not very comfy chair. Massive hard to open window. Lots of stairs to second floor.

Bad points, like most things British far to expensive, 50-70% of the charged price would be closer to it. I would imagine that parking can be a problem at certain times, even during our out of season visit we only just found a space.

Really bad points, the shower room, it borders on unusable and really is a bad joke ( or would be if you were not paying for it)

This is an excellent little hotel overlooking the South Beach of Scarborough. I must first admitt that my wife and I are big fans of this area of the coast in the UK. However this was our 1st visit with our young family (3 daughters 8,6,6).

We booked into a family room on the ground floor behind the lounge area. Upon arrival there was a friendly and relaxed welcome where were shown to this very spacious room and offered a complimentary glass of wine. The room had Double sofa bed, double bed and single bed. Sounds alot in one room but there was enough space. In additon there was a plasma screen TV and a small mini bar!

The rooms were really well furnished. My wife and I have travelled extensively all over the world in some of the best hotels (Shangri La in Singapore and Mandarin Oriental in Hongkong) and I must say that the fittings in the rooms would not have been out of place. The ensuite bathroom was well equiped and had plenty of space for 4 mirror hogging women. The guest lounge has a fantastic view (day and night) of Scarborough harbor and its castle.

Being a B&B breakfast is important. The service and the breakfast were both excellent. We stayed 2 days and would gladdly stay again if its not booked up!

We wanted a room with a view in Scarborough and were more than happy with our 4 night stay at the Mansion House Hotel. In fact everything came up to our expectations.
Our first floor Premier sea view room was most comfortable and tastefully furnished.
On arrival the complimentary glass of wine in our room was a thoughtful touch and most welcome.
The breakfasts were excellent, being well cooked and cheerfully served.
The room facilities were faultless, with the impressive flat screen TV, complimentary refreshments, spotless ensuite and mini-bar.
Sitting in the window seat in our room, looking out at the lovely view was a restful experience which we aim to repeat.

I can not recomend this hotel too highly. From the minute I walked through the door to the moment I left the service and attention to detail was fantastic. Being someone who is a regular business traveller I have become hardened to surly service NOT so this property, it really is a home from home. With quality beds and furnishings and rounded of by a quality unhurried breakfast in a tranquil and homely setting.TO BE RECOMMENDED.
