Lovely hotel...excellently clean and super room number 1.
Superb shower room room and excellent breakfast with lovely staff.
Ten minutes walk to seafront and restaurants.
We stayed with family in the next room which was handy for babysitting!
Will certainly stay again.

Room Tip: Number 1 was lovely.

Just an overnight stay but this hotel was very comfortable and clean. We were made very welcome by the owners. Our room was large comfortable with en-suite. Coffee tea biscuits chocolates soaps etc. The shower was extremely clean and towels were very white and fluffy. Breakfast was delicious from fruits, cereals juice and a good selection of cooked food and as much as you could eat all excellently cooked. A very enjoyable stay.

Having left it too late last year to find anywhere affordable to stay in Scarborough, I decided to do some early research to avoid disappointment for July 2013. Boy, were we all chuffed as soon as we walked into the Ashburton Hotel, Valley Road, Scarborough.
There was an immediate sense of having made the right choice as we walked through the door. Excellent welcome from the owner and the family room we booked exceeded our expectation. It was a family room, a partition between the double and single bed with a TV in each section. Tea ,coffee, chocolate, biscuits all available and topped up each day. The beds were really comfortable and we all slept well despite the humidity. En suite toilet a tad on the small side but more than adequate for our three night stay. Breakfast was superb with plentiful choice of cereal , fruit juice, yogurt ,and fresh fruit. For the mains, we each went for the full English, sausage, bacon, egg, black pudding, mushroom, hash brown, baked beans and fried bread. Not much room left for toast, and could only manage one slice. Set us up for the day, and whilst there were three or four other choices on the menu including lighter bites, we resisted trying any of them as we found this far to tasty to refuse each morning. Overall, we felt that the Ashburton offers great value that would be very difficult to surpass. Highly recommended.

Room Tip: We stayed in room 10. The owners are thinking of making alterations as it is the last room to be ref...

We stayed in room 3, the family room, on the first floor which consists of two bedrooms, ensuite bathroom with bath, over bathshower and en suite shower room .
Sleeps upto 5, but the children have their own room accessed through the parents room giving everyone their privacy which when you are travelling with older children you need, they also had their own tv and ensuite
The owners where friendly and helpful and the breakfast was excellent. only 10-15 minutes from centre and car parking.

Room Tip: Room 3 for families with older children

Mini break in scarborough, while the sun was shinning. just stayed for 1 night and had a great time. If only England got more sun we would never fly again. Got room 5 on top floor which was all we could have asked for. Clean, nice decor, freeview tv, tea and coffee and bathroom with shower. Very friendly and no noise (slept like a log). Not too far from town centre, but not central. The best thing about this place though was breakfast. lots of choice including full, kippers, smoked salmon, vegi, scrambled eggs etc. The owners were quite happy to make whatever you requested within reason (sausage sandwiches etc.) I had full English and it was simply gorgeous ! Went on our way happy bunnies and would book here again without a problem.

We spent four nights in this homely, pleasant, B&B. The owner's hospitality was second to none. The hotel looks a bit dated when you first look at it but the friendly atmosphere soon makes you feel at home. The breakfast was really good, fresh well cooked food, which was hot on arrival with a good choice too and no problem if you wanted a different combination to what was on offer. The hotel is in a good position if you prefer somewhere quieter and there are a couple of pubs either side if you don't feel like walking far. The walk into town and to the seafront depends on how mobile you are, as Scarborough is very hilly, this aside, the walk is very pleasant. The hotel is well situated if you want to explore further afield.
The only downside is that being an old property there isn't a lift and some may have problems climbing the stairs.

Room Tip: Room 5 needed a couple of cosmetic changes (mirrors too high, lack of toiletry storage space in bath...

Just returned from a 2 night stay at The Ashburton Hotel,

Excellent modern Double room, the only negative would be the trickle of a shower. Very comfortable bed and ample room for 2.

The Hotel owners were very welcoming and made an excellent breakfast.

In my humble opinion you won't get a much better hotel room for the same price in Scarborough..
