A really gorgeous cluster of self catering cottages. Situated just outside Scarborough, the cottages are furnished to a really high standard, with fantastic views over the sea. Each has a small garden, BBQ, fully fitted kitchen, all mod cons, with brand new fittings and furnishings. The best thing for us was the fact that there is a manned reception most days, plus a really cute play area for children, with high quality swings, slides and a sandpit. Plus a smart "games room" with DVDs and books to borrow, pool table, and lots of board games and outside games.
Almost all the people I spoke to at Scalby Lodge were going to rebook for the next year. They have just opened in Feb 2013 and spent a LOT of money on refurbishing a working farm into 5 star accommodation.
There were gardeners working on site almost every day we were there, with a friendly receptionist (with 2 sweet little dogs), and everything was just so clean, tidy and brand new!
There are plenty of nice pubs nearby, with a supermarket about 2 minutes drive away and Scarborough sea front about 5 minutes drive.
We stayed at Tweedmouth Cottage and it slept 6 people. Nice lounge with ipod speakers, TV, DVD player, fully fitted kitchen, two very smart bathrooms and wonderful decoration with original paintings on the wall!
Go there! You won't be disappointed!
