My friend and I have just spent a lovely week at Everley Cottage, there was a welcome pack of wine, scones, milk, butter etc ,just the job after our journey. The owners couldn't have been more helpful and friendly, what a lovely genuine couple. There was a problem with the heating when we arrived which was dealt with as promptly as possible and nothing was too much trouble. The views from the garden are gorgeous and it was heaven to sit in the sunshine with a glass of wine and watch the birds ,very very relaxing. It was a pleasure to meet such a very nice couple and their family. We hope to return.
This cottage has been restored and modernised at great expense. The accommodation leaves little to be desired. It is very comfortable with plenty of room for a family.
The two bathrooms have both been fitted with modern easy to operate showers,in the form of wetrooms. They are both roomy and well positioned .The en-suite room has a lovely deep bath to ease the aches and pains of walkers. . For the benifit of elderly people I think a grab rail would be benificial in one shower. The central heating system in the cottage is very efficient and I would not restrict my using of the cottage to the summermonths as we had a very enjoyable week there in late October.
Although the cottage is a little isolated there are lots of lovely walks in the vicinity as well as the forest trails in Dolby forest..

Firstly I must say that the photos that you see on the website don't do the cottage justice as it is a stunning cottage in a beautiful location. I can only imagine how relaxing it must be sat in the garden in the sun looking out to the countryside. The cottage has loads of room, is very tastefully decorated and has everything that you need for a 'home from home' holiday. And the bathrooms are fantastic; the wet room is very practical and the main bathroom is to die. There were only 2 of us but there is plenty of space for a family and I would recommend it for anyone looking for some peace and quiet yet within a 20 minute drive of the coast. There are loads of great walks in the area for those like us who delve into trekking. So why didn't I give it 5 stars?
When we arrived we were very unhappy with the cleanliness, it looks like some parts of the property hadn't been cleaned for weeks. And after complaining to be told by the owner that "it's just a bit of dust" when it was far more than that was in my view unacceptable. To be fair though they re-cleaned it the following day as promised.
Also, although this is just a minor issue is that the cottage is advertised as having WIFI, it appears to be the main building's WIFI and the signal is very weak and in some parts of the property non-existent. We took a new laptop, a tablet and three smartphones (we use social media a lot) and the connection was very slow and unreliable. That said, I'm sure that wouldn't bother most people.

Returned to The Everley Cottage for our second stay which was how we remembered it exceptional. The owners were very welcoming and we're available if we needed anything. The views from the cottage garden were magnificent, we could have sat there all day. Would highly recommend the cottage to anyone who is looking for luxury and a perfect location for country walks in beautiful countryside but also has the added bonus of being a short drive away from the coast. Look forward to returning very soon.

This cottage catered for all our needs. There were four adults and a toddler in our party so having two bathrooms was great. Spotlessly clean, comfy beds and the welcome basket was a lovely surprise. Would definitely return again.
