“Absolutely perfect!”
Reviewed March 21, 2015 for a stay in March 2015

This property is beautiful! Well presented, perfectly situated. We were in Scarborough for the Sci-fi convention, travelling with 5 adults and 3 children under 7, and we had so much space.
It was an excellent weekend, the children loved it, and have told all of their friends they stayed in a castle!

“Perfect for groups with lots of young kids”
Reviewed January 12, 2015 for a stay in December 2014

Great location, within walking distance of the town and perfect for getting to beach safely with young kids via the esplanade - uphill climb on the way back! Well appointed house with good amount of living space to spread out. Super for more than one family to share, especially with lots of kids as the spread over 4 floors gives everybody space.

“A lovely house, in a great location for a seaside getaway.”

I recently booked Kings House for a reunion of friends from my university days, we were looking for somewhere close enough to the town centre and sea front for trips out but nice enough to stay and catch up in if the weather wasn't up to much. It proved perfect on both accounts. With more lounge rooms, snugs and dinning space than you'll know what to do with it was perfect for the rainy days for hanging out, cooking meals together catching up. It's a pity the weather wasn't so great otherwise we'd have had a bbq out on the fantastic looking back terrace that the kitchen backs out on to. The 6 bedrooms were more than enough for us, nicely decorated with all sheets, towels etc provided and ready for us when we arrived. The bathrooms were clean with a small provision of basics, enough to see us through the weekend.

The house is located on the South Cliff, only a street away from a beautiful view of the sea all the way up to the north cliff. It's only 10 - 15 minutes to the town centre but please be aware if you have any small children or elderly relatives etc the walk in to town is quite a steep one even with the funicular railway running up south cliff (it only gets you about half way). If you don't mind the climb (which we didn't) it's perfectly located. Even if you don't fancy the walk back up from town there are enough nice pubs in the area to see you through a few evenings.

Anne who owns the house was never less than helpful and polite, answering any questions I had during the course of booking the house, and getting things like parking permits arranged etc before we arrived.

Everyone agreed what a cracking find the place was, and how much you get for the price with several of them keeping the place in mind for future family gatherings etc. Would heartily recommend it for anyone looking for a well appointed, lovely house in a fantastic location in Scarborough.
