My family (wife and 2 kids) stayed for 2 days as guests of friends getting married at the hotel. We arrived at the hotel on the friday and were greeted by a friendly lady at reception. We were showed to our family room which was verry nice, a four poster for us and two single beds for the children. Verry clean and lots of space. Had a walk round the grounds and returned to the hotel for dinner. Which was second to none, for ourselves and the children. After a great nights sleep, we had a superb yorkshire breakfast which was just what we needed. The wedding on the sataday went off without a hitch. And a fantastic day was had by all. An idylic location, A friendly happy small team of staff, And every expectation met. They all had the time to ask how we were and knew who we were. We felt verry at home and great personal service. We will return.
This was our second stay at Ox Pasture Hall and once again we had a lovely stay. The weather was great which always helps. We stayed in a courtyard room which was clean and had a huge wooden four poster bed, the room opened into the courtyard so we sat outside our room and had a few drinks in the sunshine listening to the birds - very tranquil. The food was excellent from the amuse bouche right through to the petit fours with coffee. All the staff work very hard and were friendly and helpful throughout our stay. There was building work as they are currently building some new suites but it didn't disturb us. We'll be back!!
My wife and I went here with the kids for a relatives wedding on 27th June. On arrival the hotel looked very nice, idyllic and a lovely old hall. We were in the courtyard at first for the ceremony which was a very nice courtyard. The weather wasn't brilliant but I could imagine that in the sunshine this would be gorgeous. We then moved into a bar area and sat in one of the lovely homely reception rooms which had big leather couches and log burners. We then went into a detached function room at the front of the hotel for the sit down meal and party. Although we didn't stay here we thought it was a lovely hotel in very nice surroundings.
The location of Ox Pasture is amazing, but that's where it stops.
My wife and I were celebrating our wedding anniversary and having looked at the web site were expecting a memorable and enjoyable 3 days. On arrival we were given a room upgrade (there were lots of empty rooms?)
After settling in one of the things we noticed was a broken table, the table top could be rocked from side to side. We later noticed the bed was broken, a metal rod across the foot of the bed was not attached.
Defects such as these should have been noted and rectified long before guests arrive, the fact that they were not indicates that little attention is paid to guest comfort and satisfaction.
Following a shower on our second day 2 black beetles fell out of the bath towel!
Ox Pasture Hall did not live up to expectations and does not achieve all that it boasts on its web site. In our opinion it is trying to be something it definitely is not.
We left feeling very disappointed.
We had our wedding (service only, as I have a friend who owns a country pub and hotel) on June 15th. The staff are efficient and friendly and the location is simply stunning. We didn't feel rushed in any way, even though their was a full wedding plus reception after ours. There was some ongoing building work at the venue, but you had to look hard to notice. The standards at Ox Pasture are clearly very high.
