What was there was good, but didn't entertain us for long, especially as literature mentioned 'day out' - more like 1 - 2 hors max!

This 'museum' is really good fun. Three huge warehouse type buildings containing organs, cars, fairground rides, including the fastest dodgems I have ever rode etc etc. The staff are really friendly and very helpful. If you want to go on a ride just ask one of them. The tea shop & bar are very reasonable and the food is good.
Only negative, which takes away the 5th star is that the Wednesday afternoon tea dance which advertises ballroom dancing only did two slow foxtrots and the rest was sequence only, no Blackpool Wurlitzer experience here, just go round & round copying everyone else.

Glad you had a good time. Micheal Carr our resident organist at our Tea Dance is very happy to play for your style of dancing. Please feel free to ring before you visit with suggested tunes or approach him on the day.

Going to the East Coast and expecting a bit of rain, I looked on Trip Advisor to find an indoor attraction and noticed this had good reviews. We visited as a family with 2 children and am elderly mum in a wheelchair. We found there was something for everyone here. The fairground rides were mine and children's favourite, they ran regularly so had a chance to try them all. Cafe was clean and good choice for a lunchtime snack. Disabled access was good. There are plans to extend it and we look forward to returning.

We discovered the existence of this place only by accident – we had passed the Flower of May Campsite many a time (on the Filey to Scarborough Road), but hadn’t realised that this was hidden away up there.

Apparently it has recently received ‘Visit England’ accreditation, so a brown sign should soon be appearing on the main road.

In the meantime, if you are interested at all in old fashioned fairground rides, old organs, traction engines, veteran and vintage cars and motorcycles and much more of a bygone era, then this place is a must on your itinerary.

We spent a leisurely hour and a half there. And very rewarding it was, too.

Last week my wife and myself went on an outing with a group of friends that ended up at this location. We were pleasantly surprised to find ourselves at this amazing venue. I thought I knew most things about the East Coast of Yorkshire, having lived in Yorkshire all my live and having driven past the entrance to The Flowers of May camp site countless times.
This is just not a collection of old vehicles, but a unique experience of stepping back into a nostalgic era.
The collection of old vehicles and traction engines is superb, but the jewel has to be the collection of old fairground rides, that are all pristine and in working order complete with the background music from the sixties. On the subject of the music, there is also the collection of organs and the gentleman sat at the Wurlitzer giving us the benefit of his talents.
Finally I must compliment the staff for their pleasant and helpful manner, nothing was too much trouble for them and the venue is spotless, no dust to be seen.
