“Gabriel's Cottage - Exceptional!!”
Reviewed July 4, 2013

We spent a week in this glorious cottage. 5 minutes walk to the shops and about 3 minutes to the beach front. We were made more than welcome by James who was very helpful and told us where to visit and given the grand tour of the house. The house is so much bigger inside than we thought! Everything we needed (including an airer for our freshly washed clothes). The cottage is very homely with some lovely little touches.

As you are so near to the beach and all local amenities, you can park your car in the space provided and pretty much leave it unless you want to go out of Scarborough. We visited Robin Hood's Bay (fantastic for fossil hunting with the kids) and Whitby (lovely little quaint place) on one of the nicer days and these are excellent places to visit. Even although the good old British weather was it's usual dreary drizzly rain, we still had a fantastic week. Highly recommend Friarage apartments and we will definitely be returning in the near future!!! Thank you the Hodgsons!!!! The Aziz Family

This cottage is in the perfect location for staying in Scarborough. It is situated above south beach but is also within a 10 minute walk of north beach. We could not have found anywhere with a better location. There is also the added bonus of a parking space.

The cottage itself is more than ideal to house 4 people. The bedrooms are spacious and comfortable. The living area downstairs is open plan and consists of kitchen, dining and lounge area. The seating area is comfortable, no one needs to feel on top of each other, lovely big flat screen tv - also a bonus as some accommodation only provides small tvs in the lounge area.

The kitchen is well equipped, everything is provided even a washing machine.

Outside is a small patio with a bistro table and three chairs. We did get to enjoy a little sunshine out the front on one occasion. There is a 6ft wall providing privacy from the street. Just beyond that is the car parking space.

I would recommend this accommodation for families who want to be in the thick of it, we didn't need to move the car at all. The only time it moved was when we went to Flamingo Land.

Also recommend the fish and chips at the Fish Pan. Get there early for lunch as it soon gets busy and people are waiting for tables by 12.30 pm. Tricolos restaurant is really convenient, 2 minutes away and has an earlybird menu from 4 til 6 pm for 5.95 mains. Food is delicious and great service too.

Great adventure golf on North Bay, not the Sea Life centre they want £4.00 per person, the old championship course was £2.00 per person and was really great despite looking a little tired. North bay also has a lovely park with a boating lake, take either a row boat or paddle boat for 30 minutes for just under 6.00 for a family of 3. Just under £8.00 for a family of 4.

With a great location, this hi spec accommodation is really too good to miss.
Lovely people, warm welcome and great little touches in the apartments make you feel at home from the start.
I should really say to avoid this place at all costs, because a good review might restrict my future visits and I do intend to visit

Room Tip: Pick any room, they are all good. We stayed in Flat 2 which was charming.

Just returned from a weekend away in Scarborough - we decided to stay in the Friarage Apartments and in particular HOTTIES COTTAGE, firstly the prices are competitive even with Premier inn and gives the satisfaction of Free parking directly outside the cottage - no hidden extras, the location is superb - directly behind the indoor market area, only 2 minutes to the beach and centre of town. The cottage is open plan downstairs with free WI-FI and upstairs 2 well decorated double bedrooms with TV in each, bath and shower. The whole place is excellent, the friendly welcome and tour of the cottage by the staff sets you up for the break, the owners even give discounts to use their other businesses including a fish and chip restaurant on the front, everything you want in a quick, relaxing and enjoyable break, well worth it, will return

We found friarage apartments through a friend of ours who had stayed there, and after viewing the properties pictures on the website we booked 3 nights. The pictures that we saw on the website do not do the apartments justice! We had booked Seagull apartment which we were more than happy with. The apartment was beautifully furnished, and contained everything we needed for our stay. Even a few games in case we got bored!

We were provided with free parking, which mean we could leave our car right outside. Although we didnt need it during our stay as we were so central to everything. Scarborough is a wonderful place to visit, and there are some fabulous restaurants too.

We are already considering booking in for the summer!

I stayed with my partner in Kittiwake over New Year. We received a fantastic welcome. The
Apartment is beautifull with fantastic views of the sea and Scarbrough. Generally I do not write reviews but we had such a fabulous stay in this apartment and everything was in walking distance so hassle free. I would definitely recommend to anyone coming to Scarborough.

I had such a lovely stay at Gabrials cottage last week that i felt I needed to write a review straight away. I contacted the owner "Steph" beforehand requesting that I bring my little companion (cocker spaniel named Poppy) and they couldnt have been more accomodating. Imagine my suprise when I see theyve even provided a dog toy! She was so friendly and helpful and the cottage was immaculate! I thoroughly enjoyed my stay and have already booked for the following year!!! highly recommend!
