I absolutely love this building. I imagine days gone by and the Victorian grandeur that went with it. A must visit if you are staying in Scarborough. There are some good acts coming this year too so check them out.

Went to see a show at the theatre on a Sat night in February. If you want a meal pre-show (we did as we travelled to Scarborough from 20 miles away) you have to find somewhere in town. Fine, but why isn't the cliff lift working? A long walk down, even longer going back up, and if it's raining, well... If you want to park at the venue, get there early to find a space, and for the 4 hours you need it will cost around £5. There is an underground carpark a few hundred yards away, but it isn't covered by CCTV.
Inside, there are 2 bars but very few tables at which to sit and have a chat with your drink, so be prepared to stand. As for the theatre itself, probably the most cramped and uncomfortable auditorium you can imagine - crammed like sardines, no leg room and house lighting so dim you need a torch to find your seat. If you have long legs and have the build of anything other than a racing snake,
On the upbeat side, the toilets are clean, bright and spacious.

Lovely the place as a child but in January it looked "unloved".
Cliff lift looked good - pity it was not operating

Awondreful building, i,ve been to listen to the bands, for coffee, a drink, for lunch, teddy bears picnic, dart functions, campaigns, scarborough in bloom, pyschic nights, licence vitullars, meals, shows, an ice cream.... the list is endless, it is a huge asset to Scarborough and used for so many functions, a bit pricey but great entertainment have had loads of great times there and hopefully many more.
