I had a look around here in heritage week, and discovered a welcoming and knowledgeable guide who showed us around. There is loads of cricketing memorabilia, which fans and casual observers will enjoy. The bar area is comfortable, and the views of the ground were fabulous.

It is the home of the great Scarborough Yorkshire cricket festival in August!!! Amazing ground for all cricket fans and you are able to play on the pitch between innings!!! If you like cricket then make this part of your holiday stay whilst at the seaside...We have been going for the past 3 years...Come on Yorkshire xxx

Scarborough is one of the most delightful cricket grounds in the world.

As a Yorkshire exile, I have taken to making an annual pilgrimage, from Oxford, for the Festival matches in August.

If one really wants "to get away from it all", watch all of a 4-day county match; during which the outside world can seem to disappear.

I think it's worth getting access to the Pavilion bar by becoming a member of Yorkshire County Cricket club or the Scarborough Cricket Club. I think visiting County Club members are also welcome.

Supporters of a County Club who find they are playing Yorkshire at Scarborough in August should certainly think of coming along and making a holiday of it. It's certainly more special than going to most grounds; and you can't stroll out of Lord's and view the sea from the cliff-top.

Our team, Gloucestershire, were the visitors to the Scarborough Festival in August 2012. We only managed to have 2 days of cricket thanks to the weather (we did find lots of things to do on the other 2 days) but the welcome we received from the Yorkshire crowd was great! You expect a special atmosphere at a cricket festival, and we certainly found this at Scarborough Cricket Club. As members we were allowed into the club bar, where again we were made to feel most welcome. Thank you, Scarborough Cricket Club and indeed the Yorkshire supporters for such a happy visit.

Just what a cricket ground should be, the atmosphere, the lay out, the whole experience is just what a good day out at the cricket should be. I have spent many happy days here and hope to spend many more but a real shame that the powers that be perfer Headingly.
