“Lovely food”
Reviewed February 21, 2011

We had 2 meals in the restaurant as it was included in the hotel package we had booked. The food was of a really high quality and red hot when it arrived at your table and the waiter/waitress service was excellent, i asked for my meat very well done and thats how it came, overall i would definately ercommend this restaurant, it's a little on the pricey side but like everything in life, you get what you pay for

“Chocolate dessert is a triumph”
Reviewed February 3, 2011

After too long a gap between visits, we were, at last, able to book a meal for our wedding anniversary. Ann, the manger, gave us a warm welcome.

The meal was delicious, beautifully served and presented.

As chocolate lover, I was intrigued by the 'Chocolate Sweet Shop' dessert. What a triumph of imagination. A slice of good quality chocolate terrine, stuffed with sweet shop favourites eg: dolly mixtures, jelly tots, caramels and topped with mini marshmallows.

Having recently become members of The Gourmet Society, we were able to use the member's card to have our meal as a '2 meals for the price of one'.

The icing on the cake - if there had been one!

good food at a reasonable price.

best of all, we arrived with 4 week old baby and 3 year old.
we were given the choice of restaurant or conservatory.
we chose conservatory which they set up a table espacially for us.

another bonus were the very friendly staff especially the manageress who went out of her way to make us comfortable!

“Great food, service and atmosphere”
Reviewed June 24, 2010

A very varied menu with good selection of starters, mains and desserts. We were on an inclusive package and could still choose from the a la carte menu and not some smaller table d'hote menu. The food was all freshly cooked and piping hot when it arrived - breakfast and dinner alike. The staff were very attentive and the dining room was very pleasant and may have been redecorated quite recently. It deserved its Michelin recommendation.

“Great food in a glorious location”
Reviewed March 16, 2010

Lovely mullioned windows in the oak-lined reception hall with blazing open fire welcomes you to this delightful country house hotel/restaurant. Friendly, accommodating staff and delicious food serviced in the not so lovely dining room. Decor needs updating and piped music tape needs to be changed occasionally. However, most important the food is lovely. Temperature of central heating needs to be turned down - staff and guests perspiring with intense heat!!
