“weekend away”
Reviewed September 2, 2013

Just back from a long weekend at the Boston although we had a great weekend meeting some really nice people I had a few concerns about the hotel ....food barely warm ,not much choice bed never made for us and bathroom like a box !! bad smell from water coming up in the bath after going down sink . entertainment excellent and staff lovely but the place was run for the weekend by four youngsters we only saw management on the bus on arrival and departure ! Martin waited table ,did bar ,moved cases ,gave us directions ...... One thing that really couldn't be beaten was the beautiful view from our room

A spur of the moment took us to Scarborough and the Boston , they accommodated us and £60 is a reasonable price for a room with a bloody good view. We were only stopping for one night so busied ourselves sightseeing. The room was basic but comfy ,the staff we met were obliging and the breakfast was good. Yes this place needs bringing up to date but on the whole it works. We would stop again .

Stayed here with of Coach Trip at a reasonable price. We were booked in for 3 nights and 4 days. We had a corner room(7) which had great views over the sea. Room was very dated but clean and bedding was clean. Very small bathroom with shower cubicle only but could use the bathroom on the hallway if you wished to have a bath. Could also do with new carpets and beds as my wife's bed was broken. We had dinner bed and breakfast, basic food not much choice but ok. There is not much around the hotel so you need to book a taxi into centre if you want a night out. There a few pubs within walking distance but these tended to be full of locals and most were doing Karaoke when we were there. It's not really a place for young people, most of the clientele were over 65 (not us ha ha ) I would not stay here again mainly because of its position would prefer to be right on the front or better still in Whitby.

Have just been to the Boston hotel in Scarborough which we had planned for a month with family, but when we got there on Saturday 3rd August 2013 it was very disappointing. I could not sleep at nght for the smell in my family room. No 17 which was smelling of dampness and because of this we cut our holiday short and only stayed 3 days instead of 7 days. Would not recommend this hotel at all. Also the showers had no heat in them at all. Whole Hotel needs to be upgraded. Only good thing about this hotel was that it had very nice views of the seaside.

We stayed here over May bank holiday after arriving on spec to Scarborough.
The hotel itself is fine & well positioned towards the quieter South Bay.
The hotel is like it should be a 1970/80's b&b - reminded me of my holidays in this country with my family as a young child!
It's fine as a 1-2 night stay - enjoy the old memories !!!! :)

~We have just returned from a 3 night stay at this hotel. This hotel was part of a coach tour package we had booked.

Upon arrival all rooms were ready, we were in rooms 23 & 27 on the 3rd floor. Not a problem their is a small lift. Both rooms were lovely and clean. Room 23 had lovely views of the sea, room 27 did not have great views, but I am sure if we had asked they would of moved us, we were happy and stayed put.

We had dinner & breakfast, Dinner was 5 courses, you choose at breakfast your main, always ample food, and we never managed to eat all of the courses having to skip 1 or 2. Great choice for breakfast as well. The only negative I can say about the food is that the toast is brought out after the full English, not a big deal as we then asked for it before and they happily obliged. The 2 lads serving were polite and attentive but also had personality and ensured all guests were happy.

They did offer entertainment in the evenings but we already had plans, so did not partake, we did buy drinks at the bar and they were not hotel prices, so they did not try to overcharge.

There are lots of steps, so if you have mobility problem please let the hotel know in advance, there where people in our group who had problems, but the hotel has a side entrance and a lift to all floors, they also have rooms on the ground floor so I am sure will do everything to accommodate your needs.

Overall we had a lovely stay and would stay again if we are in the area.

my husband & I had a lovely time at the boston nothing was to much trouble, the staff bent over backwards to make sure every need was catered for, the food was excellent, the bar was well stocked & the prices were average, our room was at the top so the bathroom was a bit small but we took it our stride and had a good laugh.I use a walking stick but manage the steps upto the hotel ok.inside there was a lift to all floors. we will definatley go again with David urquart coach very good value for money.
