Wrea Head was once a Victorian gentleman's residence in beautiful grounds situated on the edge of Scarborough.I was a little disappointed with our room which was a superior double. It was rather small but had a flat screen TV and all the other facilities you would expect. The bathroom was modern and everything was clean. Our well priced deal provided us with Champagne and crudites on the first night. The bar was very cosy with an open fire and comfy sofas. The food was good with generous portions and the service excellent. When our choice of wine was not available (we had drunk the last bottle the previous night apparently), the manageress brought several others to try before we made our decision.
The hotel was quiet ,as was expected mid week in January after a month of snow, but all the hotels amenities were available.
The hotel is well placed for exploring Whitby, Robin Hood's Bay and the North Yorkshire Moors.
