“Comfort and attentive service made a warm winter break”
Reviewed January 30, 2010

Wrea Head was once a Victorian gentleman's residence in beautiful grounds situated on the edge of Scarborough.I was a little disappointed with our room which was a superior double. It was rather small but had a flat screen TV and all the other facilities you would expect. The bathroom was modern and everything was clean. Our well priced deal provided us with Champagne and crudites on the first night. The bar was very cosy with an open fire and comfy sofas. The food was good with generous portions and the service excellent. When our choice of wine was not available (we had drunk the last bottle the previous night apparently), the manageress brought several others to try before we made our decision.
The hotel was quiet ,as was expected mid week in January after a month of snow, but all the hotels amenities were available.
The hotel is well placed for exploring Whitby, Robin Hood's Bay and the North Yorkshire Moors.

Enjoyed a 2 night weekend stay. Food outstanding, worth a special mention the little artichoke salad as a starter, simple but amazing. Relaxing wonderful atmosphere, all staff friendly and welcoming. Special thanks to Dean for the wonderful Pimms and extra after dinner choccies ! 2nd visit, have stayed in rooms 20 and 21, although offering no view, are exceptionally quiet and comfortable. We will be back ! Karen and Graham, Selby.

Our weekend stay at this hotel was comfortable and relaxing.Nothing was too much trouble for the staff who were friendly, courteous and efficient. Ann, the general manager, was much in evidence ensuring that the guests were well-looked after. This is definitely a hotel to re-visit.

We have just returned from a two night break at this hotel and would like to say what a lovely time we had, The building was old, charming and warm. The staff were extremely friendly and helpful and the two meals we ate in the restaurant were delicious.
We have stayed in many hotels in many different places but I can honestly say that this is one of the best value for money hotels we have ever stayed in and we will certainly return in the near future

we found the hotel to be so beautiful and the attention we got from the warm and friendly staff made this, our very first visit to be so enjoyable. Anne the hotel manager was also very approachable and mixed very easily with all the guests. we hope to return again very soon.

Just enjoyed a most comfortable two night break at Wrea House. Arrived in cold wet weather to a little luxury: splendid country house with roaring log fires and an even warmer welcome! A very relaxing short break with good food and service - the latter attentive without being fussy. Thoroughly recommend a visit!
