We booked Wrea Hall from New Zealand, and, had we known what we know now, we would have booked for at least three or four days. It is the sort of place where you need to unpack, unwind, and get into the zone. The staff are so kind. The food is so good. The location is sublime. The rooms (Room 10 especially) are as nice as they could be, freshly renovated and tastefully appointed. Anne, on the front desk, is on the mark!

Room Tip: 8 or 10. Perfect.

Stayed here in June, having been here twice before. If you are looking for somewhere where the bed is most comfortable in a spotless room, where the food is plentiful and delicious (probably the best breakfast in the region), and staff are both friendly and diligent, then look no further. Just 8 minutes from the centre of Scarborough by car. No wonder it rates highest on the review scale - it is that good. A very classy hotel. Well done to Ann and all her hard working staff.

Room Tip: Ask for a refurbished room.

A one night midweek stay. This hotel enjoys a lovely setting with a great view from the terrace.
The hotel staff are very efficient and friendly, and the room was of a very hight standard. The bathroom in particular had the most impressive shower with an excellent water pressure! Something that is not common in a lot of English hotels!

My wife and I stayed for three nights in June and thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The staff were very friendly, the food was very good, and the room was very comfortable. Our room had a lovely view of the gardens and rolling Yorkshire countryside. I would strongly recommend the dinner/B&B option.

My husband and I stayed here in May and thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The staff were friendly and nothing was too much trouble. The food was good and served in the original dining room. and the bedrooms were lovely period rooms which had been recently decorated. The hotel is still being developed to its full potential. The walled garden at the back of the hotel will be stunning when restored and producing food for the kitchen.
The weather was good too!!

We had two nights and two evening meals in this charming old house and are full of praise for the accommodation and the staff. Our standard room on the second floor was quaint, freshly decorated and perfectly comfortable with bath and shower The lovely old window looked out down the long view over magnificent mature flowering rhododendrons with a cricket match in the middle ground and Scarborough in the background. The food was exquisite, especially the evening meals which were interesting, freshly prepared and beautifully presented. We got a special offer which included afternoon cream tea and was outstandingly good value for such a high standard of accommodation

Room Tip: Ours was one of the smaller rooms, but was perfectly satisfactory. Due to the rambling nature of the...
