After reading many positive reviews of The Bryherstones on tripadvisor we felt we must give it a try for lunch on our way to Scarborough. Even though it was Easter Sunday & we rang to book only the day before we were accommodated with an early dining time which suited us perfectly.
A warm & friendly greeting by the landlord & his staff as we chose from the menu.
Home made soup to start followed by one lamb and one roast beef sunday lunch.. just as it should be, both meats wonderfully tasty, great yorkshire puds, roasties, potatoes and a pleasingly different selection of veg.
Lovely lunch, great value. Will definately be here again.

Mothers Day and had booked the family for Sunday lunch. A very cold, windy, wintry day, but not when we were inside this lovely warm well kept inn. Staff were really pleasant and attentive. The food excelled our expectations on such a busy day (Thank goodness we had booked). I would not hesitate to recommend this place to anyone, we shall certainly be returning.

First visit was just for a drink one Sunday lunchtime and as they served Timothy Taylors' we were well pleased and decided to come back. There were lots of Sunday diners and the board promised beef sirloin. On returning we ordered one beef and one lamb. The beef was from a boned sirloin and mechanically sliced with a good fresh selection of vegetables. The Yorkies were fine. The lamb was a bit bland. But we enjoyed ourselves and the Timothy Taylors. Competition for Sunday lunch is fierce but we will give the Bryherstones another try. Best to ring up and book - if you can remember the name...

We visited for a meal last Saturday with my father-in-law. Between us we had gammon, slow roasted belly pork ( huge and mouth-watering) and Sally's steak pie (rich and dark).

For dessert, after claiming not to be able to eat a mouthful more, we managed to polish off 2 desserts between the 4 of us, the fruit crumble (with custard and cream) and the lime cheesecake, plates licked clean.

We had the merlot to drink (very smooth) and when I said how lovely it was, the manager/landord poured us a complimentary shiraz to try.

My husband remembers it form his teenage days so it was quite a memorable and enjoyable visit.
